“the works carried out were completed in accordance with the instructions issued for this repair… our Contracts Management Team… have advised that the repair at Brook Street was completed as a permanent measure to address the trip hazard caused by tree root growth. As the location is not within a conservation area, there is no requirement to reinstate the previous brick paving treatment. Consequently, no further works are currently proposed, and the repair is considered complete”

I have posted this image before but this is the response from #balfourbeatty #eastsussexcountycouncil as to why this repair, like most repairs, look so awful.
Balfour Beatty posted record profits earlier this year and this appalling quality of work suggests something is clearly wrong with its £297m contract with East Sussex County Council. taken in Hastings, East Sussex by @mrphilipoakley

Thanks to @m.sieben.m for these photos at the @antwerpconcours where we won a prize for furthest distance travelled to the show.
What a great event it was set in the grounds of #belvederecastle with a superb collection of vintage cars including many Bugattis, Alfas, Jaguars and Lancias from pre war to current models.
Definitely worth the drive there. taken in Antwerp, Belgium by @mrphilipoakley

So #balfourbeatty have taken away our granite curb stones and formed a new curb with cold lay tarmac. Superb work. They are worth every penny of the £297m contract with #eastsussexcountycouncil

Why bother getting paving stones level when you can invisibly blend in different levels with a bit of cement? Superb #craftsmanship by #balfourbeatty taken in Hastings, East Sussex by @mrphilipoakley
