I think my instagram has been taken over by mushrooms! Quick dander today and we found another cracking birch polypore, it’s in the dehydrator already.
And a first for us - SAFFRON MILKCAPS!
Looking forward to tasting them later.
Happy Friday!

We went for (another) walk in the woods!
This time in stunning Co Wicklow with the most knowledgeable mushrooming person we know. Courtney’s enthusiasm is infectious - her forest walks🪾and 🍄mushroom foraging events are just the best day out! Get one booked 😁

The biggest mushroom we have ever found & it’s edible! Hen of the woods Maitake & lovingly called “the dancing mushroom”. Boy did we do a wee jig! It is just beautiful. Some for tea, the rest already in the dehydrator. Can’t wait to taste it!
What do you think @hipsandhawswildcrafts ? 😂
Check out pic 5 for the weight!
Happy Thursday!
@wildfooduk for the fab books 😍

A Sunday well spent!
Berries in abundance - some edible, some not, some brought home & loads left.
Elderberry
Hawthorn
Sloe
Apples
White beam
Blackberries
Then a wee bite to eat in No14 The Georgian House on the way home.
Jim as always the best supporter of local, seasonal food. Those figs & wood pigeon were delicious!
