Today’s dander.
2 hours in the woods.
Peace & quiet.
Loads of shrooms.
Mostly about the medicinals - Turkey tail & birch polypore.
Happy Saturday!

"My Safe Harbour"

I often think of a lighthouse when I speak on behalf of @hospitalityaction

Beacon of light, that stands steadfast & secure.
Or a source of hope when all around us feels totally beyond our control, lifes crisis points can somewhat feel relentless, with the power & might of a storm
Never giving us time to breath & regain strenght, before the next wave takes you closer & closer to the edge.

But for me HA was that light that slowly guided me away from the jagged edge, gave me time to find my bearings & find my safe harbour.

The storm i face like so many others will never pass, my addiction to alcohol will never turn & leave just like the storm
It will always be relentless in its temptation to lure me back into the open water.

So in my sobriety I'm moored in my safe harbour, with bow & stern lines firmly in place with enough slack just to move as each day I face highs & lows learning just to take each day at a time.
Knowing how close I came that day & being thankful for today.

I'm in my happy place & for ever reminded of our powerful promise that simply says.

"We've Got You"

I hope you too find your safe harbour through our amazing charity at the heart of our Hospitality Family.

I think my instagram has been taken over by mushrooms! Quick dander today and we found another cracking birch polypore, it’s in the dehydrator already.
And a first for us - SAFFRON MILKCAPS!
Looking forward to tasting them later.
Happy Friday!

The biggest mushroom we have ever found & it’s edible! Hen of the woods Maitake & lovingly called “the dancing mushroom”. Boy did we do a wee jig! It is just beautiful. Some for tea, the rest already in the dehydrator. Can’t wait to taste it!
What do you think @hipsandhawswildcrafts ? 😂
Check out pic 5 for the weight!
Happy Thursday!

A Sunday well spent!
Berries in abundance - some edible, some not, some brought home & loads left.
Elderberry
Hawthorn
Sloe
Apples
White beam
Blackberries
Then a wee bite to eat in No14 The Georgian House on the way home.
Jim as always the best supporter of local, seasonal food. Those figs & wood pigeon were delicious!
