My personal rating system! I just got my first ever ARC and I feel like I should probably post this somewhere? Ratings mean different things to different readers, and this is what it means to me. I didn’t write lengthy explanations and kept it short and sweet. 🤓💖 taken in BOOKSTA by @mrspottspages

Helpless - Jessica Knoll 💜🌙🌌

This is terrifying, exciting, unsettling, WTF is going on here?!
Has anyone else read this? I was up so late last night reading it literally until I fell asleep. It’s so disturbing and suspenseful that I actually feel a bit unsettled that I’m enjoying it this much? I feel like the best thrillers will do that to you though. 😅

Also unrelated but pictured—can 100% confirm the @comfrt dreamer blanket is actual heaven. My mom got me one for my birthday and I want to live in it, perfect for reading in bed

Happy Sunday! 💜

I’ve given up on being a productive member of society today, the witchy reads are calling 📞 🧙‍♀️🖤

Currently: The Bewitching by Silvia Moreno-Garcia (never disappoints…Hello, Mexican Gothic!)

Any other good witchy reads? Let me know

Meet Me In The Garden by Nina LaCour

Not really a review but just my general feelings splattered below about this one!
I picked this up at the library a few weeks ago and I am so glad I did. I have not been this invested in fictional peoples’ lives this much in a long time 😅 This was gorgeous. Meet Me In The Garden takes place starting in 1944 New Orleans but spans over decades of family drama, friendship, secrets, dreams and longing during the Great Migration. It’s fascinating, beautiful and heartbreaking. Fans of historical fiction, sapphic reads, and sad girl lit — I cannot recommend it enough. I can see this one being a future classic for sure. ❤️

🖤☕️ September hit and my whole reading mood shifted! I’ve been really hyper fixated on Rachel Harrison books. This is my second! My first was So Thirsty, which I really liked (I read it back in 2024 according to my Goodreads I guess!). I have Play Nice on deck ready to go, and I just picked her latest book for my BOTM September pick (just hasn’t arrived yet lol) 🤎📖

🍁 what’s your current read right now?

August! My shortest read month to date. I finished 3 this month because it was…well, kind of a crazy month. Ive been in kind of a major reading slump. I just can’t find anything that appeals to me right now and I hate it. I also started like 5 other books but have yet to finish them. 😂 and some of them I’m not sure I will ever finish, but I’m having trouble letting myself DNF them. However! the books I did read were pretty solid reads, I really enjoyed the Road to Tender Hearts and I think that was probably my favorite this month. I might be biased because it is based off a Massachusetts main character 😂 but I just thought it was a really heartfelt and heartbreaking read altogether.

Also idk about you but I’m still reeling that we lost Dolly and Tim Curry in the same week. I’ll never be okay. 🦋

Anyways
Here’s looking forward to my favorite time of the year! September is here and so is my Libra season in a few weeks! taken in BOOKSTA by @mrspottspages
