Most popular brands you see today started with humble beginnings. In the early 2000s, my marketing company, Urbanlife Marketing and Promotions, landed a project with Rap Snacksā€”a bold move that signaled hip hopā€™s entrance into the food game. At a time when Mr. Pringle and Chester Cheetah ruled the snack aisle, Rap Snacks was the new kid with something that connected to the consumer on a cultural level. We were proud to lead the charge in introducing the brand to the Houston market. The road wasnā€™t easy, but persistence paid off. Today, Rap Snacks has earned its rightful place alongside some of your favorite brands. Rememberā€”stay the course. @officialrapsnacks #tbt by @mrtrent

As a young music promoter, I often crossed paths with industry figures who werenā€™t necessarily in the spotlight when I started, but whose impact on the culture was undeniable. One of my early mentors, Danny Sims, was one of those people. He played a pivotal role in managing and bringing Bob Marley to the world stage, managed Peter Tosh, and worked with a wide range of influential artists. If you get a chance, take a moment to look him upā€”his legacy is worth knowing. #tbt #bobmarley #dannysims by @mrtrent

Finally started digging through my old photo stash and found a few small gems from the archives... 1. @paulwallbaby on the turntablesā€”before the grills took over the game. 2. My very first office in Downtown Houston. We were out there hustling with the Redman mascotā€”yep, thatā€™s me in the costume. 3. Me and George Daniels at the Source Awards afterparty in Miami. Good times! 4. One of the many Motorola Timeports I owned back in the day. If you know, you know. taken in HTX by @mrtrent
