Snuck into Louisiana for Homecoming and got to see a few people near and dear to me! 🥹❤️

Seeing students I worked with—some still in school, others already graduated—has me feeling like a real auntie!

I was in and out, so I missed some folks. Next time, I’ll stay longer!

That weather had my hair looking a mess, so I’m only sharing the pics where it looked decent. Don’t charge it to my heart! Love y’all! ❤️😂 taken in Cajun Field by @ms.matika

Some people leave an impact on you that you never forget. ❤️

During my time in Louisiana, I was blessed to have some amazing people pour into me, support me, encourage me, and make my experience one that I will always be grateful for. So, of course, I had to come back and celebrate them as they received some very well-deserved recognition at the 34th Annual Sweet Sounds of Sharing during Homecoming!

It meant so much to be there to see them recognized as 2026 Outstanding Alumni Honorees and Trailblazers. When people have played a meaningful part in your journey, it feels just as special to be able to show up and celebrate theirs.

Congratulations to these amazing honorees! I’m so glad I was able to attend. Forever grateful for the people who made Louisiana feel like home. ❤️⚜️ taken in University of Louisiana at Lafayette by @ms.matika

What a way to close out Alumni Weekend! 🧡💙🏈

Laker Fest, reconnecting with fellow alumni, plenty of laughs, and cheering on our Lakers to a WIN made for the perfect ending to an amazing weekend.

I loved being back on campus, celebrating our Laker community, and experiencing my first Alumni Weekend as a member of the Alumni Association Board and serving on the Alumni Weekend Planning Committee! 🧡💙

Good vibes at the Alumni Mixer! 🧡💙

A little weather couldn’t stop the fun! Our Alumni Mixer turned into a family-style dinner, and it ended up being the perfect way to reconnect, laugh, and make even more meaningful connections around the table.

Such a great evening catching up with fellow alumni, enjoying good food, and even better conversation.

A great evening at Lakers Connect!

It was wonderful connecting and networking with fellow Clayton State alumni, hearing updates and remarks from President Lewis, and building new relationships within the Laker community. I even had the opportunity to reunite with fellow AmeriCorps alum!

Great conversations, meaningful connections, and an even stronger appreciation for the Clayton State community. Proud to be a Laker! 💙🧡

First official Clayton State Alumni Board meeting in the books! 💙🧡

I had such a great time connecting with fellow alumni, sharing ideas, and planning for what’s ahead. I’m excited about the opportunities we have to continue supporting our alumni, current students, and the Clayton State community. Looking forward to our future meetings and all that we’ll accomplish together!

Today, board members also had the opportunity to bring donations for the Clayton State CARE Center, which provides resources and support to our students. 💙 If you’d like to contribute as well, the CARE Center is currently accepting donations and has a wishlist available. Visit @claytonstate_care to learn more and see how you can help!

Honored to officially be a graduate of the South College Leadership Academy! 🎉

Over the past couple of months, I had the privilege of participating in this incredible leadership development experience alongside colleagues from across the South College system. Although the academy was held virtually, it provided meaningful opportunities to connect, collaborate, and learn from accomplished leaders across higher education and a variety of industries.

Each session challenged me to think differently about leadership and helped shape my own leadership philosophy—one rooted in authenticity, continuous learning, servant leadership, and empowering others. I look forward to applying these lessons in my current role as I continue supporting students, collaborating with colleagues, and growing as a leader.

Leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating opportunities for others to succeed while never stopping your own journey of learning. ✨

I am honored to share that I’ve been appointed to serve on the Clayton State University Alumni Board of Advisors!

As a proud member of the Class of 2013, this opportunity is especially meaningful. Clayton State helped shape who I am, and it’s a privilege to now give back by supporting our alumni community and helping future students thrive.

I’m excited for what this opportunity will bring and look forward to serving alongside such an amazing group of leaders.

Once a Laker, always a Laker. 💙🧡

Throwback to our last spring and in-person cohort classes together! 🥹📚

It’s hard to put into words how much this journey and these people mean to me. Over the past few years, we’ve balanced life, work, transitions, deadlines, presentations, stress, and so many moments of growth — yet we kept showing up for ourselves and each other. Even though we’re all at different stages now, I love that we continue to cheer one another on every step of the way.

Last semester came with a lot of transitions for me personally, but I’m incredibly thankful for my cohort, professors, and my chair/committee for the constant support, encouragement, and belief in me throughout it all.

So proud of everything Cohort 11 has accomplished already, and I know there are even more amazing announcements on the way ! 🎉

Here’s to the memories, the growth, and the future ahead. #Cohort11 #RoadToDrHolmes #HigherEducation #Leadership taken in University of Louisiana at Lafayette by @ms.matika

Career Fair Day! 🤝

It was amazing having the opportunity to connect with students from both the Marietta and Atlanta campuses, while also meeting employers and program representatives who are passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for our students.

It was also my first time back at the Atlanta campus since my previous time there, and seeing the growth and energy on campus was truly inspiring. I’m excited for more opportunities to collaborate with the Atlanta campus, support our students, and continue building connections through future campus events!
