*Another trip around the sun*

As the youngest of two, K has perfected the art of independent mischief. Like the time we turned around for one second, and she had climbed onto the kitchen counter to “help” make breakfast (read: crack eggs directly onto the floor). Or when she chose the bathtub (with her sister still in it) as the perfect spot for a bathroom break. Or the time she proudly chewed on her shoe before we could stop her, looking us dead in the eyes as if daring us to intervene. Or the countless times we’ve left the house without an extra set of clothes & diapers, only to be reminded why that’s always a bad idea. Or more recently, reached for my glass of wine when we weren't looking, only to almost take a sip before a friend peeled the glass away from her lips!

Kavya has basically been raised in the background of someone else’s monologue (Hi, Ahana!),adapting to a life where time, energy, and attention are often in short supply. She’s easy going because she has to be. And yet—despite having less time, I enjoy it more. Not because I’m less busy, but because I see it now. I know how fast it goes.This time, I’m not consumed by fear, overthinking, or what the books say. I can just be in it. Fully. Quietly. Gratefully. This time, I’m not performing motherhood—I’m living it. The second baby comes into a world already in motion. There’s no time to pause and marvel. There’s always a sleeve being tugged, an appointment we are late to, a half-written text I forgot to send, and a reservation I never actually booked. Kavya's babyhood has unfolded in the margins. Slower. Quieter. Half-captured on my phone, if at all.

London 🇬🇧: A quirky mishmash of historical grandeur and chaotic charm, a city bound by big red double decker buses, a place where towering medieval castles stand shoulder to shoulder with sleek skyscrapers. Also, where pigeons conduct aerial acrobatics over tourists' heads.

It's a place where queuing for tea is a national sport, and the weather forecast includes a daily dose of surprise showers just to keep everyone on their toes. Amidst the posh accents and sophisticated culture, you'll find locals juggling umbrellas, navigating the Tube like seasoned adventurers, and engaging in the eternal debate over which is superior: Yorkshire pudding or Cornish pasties. London, where the only thing more unpredictable than the weather is the humor!

People will try to tell you about that first moment.
Where you fall in love.
And you’ll nod, you’ll sit there in awe trying to make sense of a feeling that could never be put into words.

Because how do you explain about knowing love but not like this, how it runs through your veins.
How with each inhale you’ll consume it forever from this moment forward.

That your new home is wherever they are, and theirs is simply you.

How do you explain how it feels as if you’ve known them forever. How they find your eyes like it’s all they’ve been searching for.

How do you explain wanting the world to know about this perfect little person you’re staring down at, and in the same breath, wanting to protect them from it. That you’ve never felt so fierce and so vulnerable, that your arms have never felt so important.

How do you explain that months of growing them, would be the beginning of them growing you. How you can be born again, still you and someone new.

How do you explain how time will stand still, but never still enough to catch it.
How your legs will wobble in this new role but you’ll never stand so tall.
And how heartbeats have their own language.

That this love has a sense of melancholy, you’ll feel everything, it’s so big it hurts.
It’s peaceful and it’s terrifying.

A journey where your destination travels alongside you.
A detached piece of yourself that makes you feel whole.

A type of magic handmade just for us.

* This is 3*

A turned 3 a few weeks ago! It's hard to believe that this tiny human who came into the world just before it shut down is all of 3! The last 3 years have been a whirlwind watching you grow into this kind, extroverted, extremely funny and wildly entertaining human. You possess a charisma that charms everyone you meet. It's partly cuz you consider everyone your friend. From your classmates at school to random kids at the park- you unfailing point and say "that's my friend" and ask to be introduced to every kid you meet. Your extrovertedness comes with affection too. You're the best hug giver and the kindest friend.

Your confidence is unmatched. I wish I could bottle it up forever. You're wonderfully assured of your capabilities and that know undoubtedly that everyone will like you. Not in an abrasive way- in a warm, welcoming way that's attractive to everyone around you. You are so convinced that you are loved and that radiates to everyone you befriend.

For as wild and funny as you are, you are also equally calm, an acute listener and a direction follower (for the most part) . You are incredibly verbal and have been an early talker. You can reason and hold conversations beyond your age which catches me by surprise daily!

You are insistent in that you are now a big girl and want to be fiercely independent. From deciding what to eat to wanting to dress yourself, you've wanted to be self sufficient and led the way. It's a pure joy to witness but also equally exhausting.

You're so affectionate. Everyday telling us you love us and wanting to snuggle each night. You give the best hugs. I wish I could freeze time right about now.

Happy birthday my beautiful girl. Watching you grow and being your mama has been the greatest gift life's given me and I feel truly blessed to be yours. You will always have a piece of my heart ❤️ by @ms.twocents
