I always go to Torrance to visit family but never really stopped to explore the place. I've been sleeping on TORRANCE! Explored the local mall and saw the first ever official Studio Ghibli shop in the U.S! The flyer they had in there said It's a pop-up that will only last until the end of this year. I'm so glad I got a chance to see it over the weekend 😍

@haidilao_southcenter Grand Opening at Westfield Southcenter Mall!

I was excited to be part of the soft opening festivities earlier this month. Happy to have a Haidilao Hotpot closer to South Seattle and in a larger banquet space! I don't have to travel too far for some good old fashion hotpot. My favorite part is the convenience of ordering whatever I want on the digital pad and the many amenities that you can use from the pull-out drawer on the side of the table. And of course, the infamous Haidilao hand-pulled noodle dance!

We were hired together at our last retail job in 2025 at the same time with the same names! Fate sometimes happens like that! My former coworker and now good friend, Cindhy Diaz, recently debuted at the Delridge Farmers Market with her own coconut drink stand called Nura Renua. Inspired by the Carribean warmth, flavors and traditions of the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, Cindhy wanted to share a part of her culture where time is more slowed down and life is more savored to the fullest. Through handcrafted coconut drinks and traditional eats, Nura Renua offers an experience where you don't have to travel to the islands for!

The Pacific Northwest doesn't have a huge concentration of the Dominican or Puerto Rican diaspora like New York's South Bronx and East Harlem neighborhoods so I was extremely excited to hear that my friend wanted to showcase some Dominican and Puerto Rican inspired drinks and snacks! Seattle is deprived of such amazing cuisines.

I had to try the Coquito Latte from the menu because you can only get Coquito on the holidays. Coquito is the Carribean cousin version of American egg nog 😆. I never thought coconut water, bitter cold brew coffee and creamy spiced Coquito would be a winning combo! It's the perfect balance and way more refreshing than a regular latte. I was hooked from the first sip.

I'm incredibly proud of Cindhy and her ability to help share some of the best rituals from her culture through Nura Renua!
