The band tee is the most loyal garment on earth. 🎸👕

Fans keep them for decades. Wear them until they fall apart. Frame them. Pass them down. Few things we own carry that much meaning — and almost nothing in fashion moves at merch’s scale.

So here’s the question: what if the most-loved shirt in someone’s closet was also the one doing the most good?

On Mon, September 21, I’m moderating MERCH IS THE MESSAGE: Where Music and Fashion Converge to Move Culture at Solutions House during Climate Week NYC — bringing merch leadership, artists, and the supply chain into one room to get honest about what’s actually blocking the shift. Cost. Lead times. Minimums. Licensing. Approvals. All of it.

Because sustainable merch shouldn’t be the premium upgrade. It should be the standard.

Joining me:
🎤 Olivia Kelly, Senior Director, Universal Music Group
🎷 Sumner Becker, Alto Saxophone, Lawrence
🔥 Kristina “Red” Tanner, Partner, Activist Artists Management

🗓️ Monday, September 21 | 2:30–3:30 PM
📍 42 E 33rd St, NYC | Solutions House 2026
🎟️ Register: https://luma.com/jwru1x17?tk=MIXMOJ

Produced by @msa.action as part of the Wear the Change platform — uniting artists, labels, retailers, manufacturers and fans around a better way to make, buy and wear.

Merch has always been a statement. Let’s make it a better one. 🌍🌱♻️

♻️ Waste is complicated. Let’s talk about it. 💬

Waste in the music industry isn’t one problem. It’s the shared output of dozens of processes, from vinyl pressing, packaging and merch to catering, concessions, staging, freight, disposable cups and more.

During Climate Week NYC, Music Sustainability Alliance is bringing the industry together for Music and Waste: A Fishbowl Conversation.

No panels. No presentations. Just a moderated, open dialogue where experts and attendees move in and out of the conversation, bringing their own experiences, challenges and solutions to the table.

Starting the conversation:
Michele Fox — Greener by Default
Adam Gardner — REVERB
Jonah Geschwind — Green Disco
Michael Martin — r.World | Reuse

Moderated by: Joel Makower — Trellis Group & Music Sustainability Alliance

Nobody in the room has the whole picture. Everyone has a piece of it.

What happens when we put those pieces together? What solutions already exist? Where are the gaps? And what could a cross-industry approach to waste look like?

Join the conversation.

We're proud to share that MSA CEO & Co-Founder Amy Morrison has been named one of Pollstar's 2026 Impact 50 Honorees. 🌟

This recognition celebrates leaders shaping live music and reflects the growing momentum behind sustainability as a core industry value.

As Amy shared with Pollstar:
"The most exciting shift is seeing sustainability move from a 'side issue' into a natural, integrated part of the entire music ecosystem—from production and mobility to food systems and merch."

This recognition reflects the work of an entire community—our members, partners, advisors, volunteers, and the many artists, managers, venues, promoters, agents, vendors, and changemakers helping drive this work forward every day.

Thank you, @pollstar_official, for the recognition, and congratulations to Amy and all of this year's honorees.

Channeling creativity into being.

On April 14, MSA (@msa.action) hosted their annual Music Sustainability Summit in Hollywood at Solotech Studios. A day full of panels, workshops, and networking, bringing together music industry executives to celebrate green practices and innovation. EARTH CALLING’s founder, Jo Little (@jonotsolittle) joined the stage as a moderator for “Music’s Impact on Culture is its Climate Superpower”, a conversation between artists Madame Gandhi (@madamegandhi) and Rozzi (@thisisrozzi).

Centered on creativity, the speakers described how art emotionally expands us and bridges different channels of being. Madame Gandhi discussed bringing her album to life with the help of Indigenous practitioners, and how she brings meditative practices to her fans by creating immersive experiences at album listening parties, recreating natural landscapes with acoustic instruments.

Rozzi, based in LA, discussed beginning a book club and how she connects to her fans through reading culture. Her single, “Orange Skies” with Sounds Right, was recorded with the birdsongs from the plot of land her brother’s home burned down on during the 2025 LA wildfires. Most of the recording royalties from the song are donated to global conservation initiatives.

🎶 You can listen to Madame Gandhi’s latest album, “Love Letters From Brooklyn” now, and Rozzi’s upcoming album, “FIG TREE” on May 8th. by @msa.action
