I’m feeling pretty proud of myself these days, and equally humbled by how much more there is to build.

For 3 years, we’ve been quietly doing the work. Today, we serve just under 400 clients each month, helping bring essential services closer to the people who need them.

There is still so much ahead, but I’m taking a moment to appreciate how far we’ve come -- and inviting you to be part of where we’re going.

If you’re from Detroit, you already know the @universoulcircus is a childhood staple. I haven’t been in over 20 years, and it did not disappoint.

The energy was off the charts...the music, the talent, the crowd - on point. You could feel how much discipline and heart they put into this show.

Coming back after all these years with my son was a vibe, and gives me a reason to be a kid again...a little nostalgic, a little full circle.

I didn't know what I was signing up for when I became his mom.
But I know now:
He loves loud.
Screams louder.
Hugs without hesitation.
Grabs my hand in public like I'm his whole world.
Plays pranks on me with no fear.

And I love every bit of it.

This weekend we celebrated him.
20 little people.
Friends. Cousins. Neighbors.
The ones who just show up.
The ones who know his name, what makes him laugh, and can recognize his laugh from across the yard.
That's community.

And watching him in the middle of all of it:
Just free.
Just himself.
Just loved.
That's everything.

Happy birthday to my son.

The one who taught me that love doesn't have to be complicated.
It just has to be real.

Thank you to everyone who came out, we had a blast.

I've been re-learning myself in real time.

Not trying to fix anything.
Not trying to become some better version.

Just paying attention to what feels good.

What I actually like.
What I’m not forcing anymore.

Moving how I want.
Taking my time with it.

Letting things land without rushing past them.

And somewhere in that, I stopped second guessing
every version of me (only Geminis understand this 🫣).

Stopped asking if it was too much.
Stopped trying to clean it up for anyone else.

And now…when the sun hits.

I don’t adjust.

I just let it sit.
Like yep...she's good here...real good.
