Back on the road with my Scissters over a decade later, 20 years on. Wasn’t sure this day would ever come but here we are and it’s pretty marvelous thus far. 2 warm up shows down - just a week of production rehearsals, an arena tour, festivals, and a US tour to go! It’s been so fun getting back in the creative zone with these freaks and getting to assemble a dream team of geniuses to join the circus. Thank you in particular to @florahuddart for making fashion dreams come true and being a patient visionary angel. Thanks also to @jade_hart_hair @karenstanleyphoto @joesweeneyltd and everyone else who has pitched in their fairy dust to make it all happen. Powered by @fascinationmanagement 💘

I was so honored to be asked by Lee Alexander McQueen’s @sarabandefoundation to speak on behalf of @purplepr about self promotion and PR in art and the broader creative industries alongside @mitchellvictoria from @lisson_gallery and Sarabande alumni @mai_ye. The talk was called “What Kind of Artist Are You?” and as usual I felt a bit of imposter syndrome going in - am I REALLY qualified to be telling anyone what kind of artist to be?! Long story short, three tequila cocktails on an empty stomach unlocked a tidal wave of advice, opinions, anecdotes and one liners (sorry to everyone in attendance.) It’s always energizing to meet actual humans in real life (not just behind a screen!) and even more so, working artists from varying backgrounds and practices. The Q&A and meet and greet after the talk were equally inspiring (if not more so!) than the talk itself. So many interesting points were raised and I think (hope?) that both the audience and the panelists walked out feeling inspired and armed with information and insights that might help us all navigate this weird old world we live and work in. Thank you Trino, Stevie, Charlotte and everyone at @sarabandefoundation for having me. Serious regrets about not tucking in my microphone cable, but hey - live and learn.

If you’ve seen or spoken to me over the last few months, I probably blurted out something about our kitchen renovation, and for that I am sorry. It became my entire personality. We lived in dust, we ate directly from the air fryer, we relied on the kindness of neighbors. And since we’re all in this together, I wanted to share these, the long anticipated and supremely satisfying before and after photos. CAN YOU EVEN?

As a NYC gal I never thought I would own my own apartment, much less one in London! (Ok fine the bank owns it. But still.) When @ichaloner and I bought this place back in 2022 we knew someday somehow we wanted to renovate the kitchen. But how?! We were scared of the disruption to life, the cost, the stress and generally just intimidated but the process. Also I sort of knew what I wanted…but not really? At all. So we avoided it for 4 years but eventually the lack of space and functionality wore us down to a nub and right around that time my bff @drewpsie introduced to his friend @georgemorganstudio who was the genius, mastermind and catalyst for making it happen. Drew gave him one mantra by way of introduction, the end result needed to be “totally bananas.” George listened to what we wanted, told us what we needed, and most importantly had the confidence to push through our fear and hesitation and do something truly bold and totally magical. It WORKS, it’s got all the practical things we needed and all the silly things I dreamed about (ie a restaurant grade ice machine and an InsinkErator) and it makes us sublimely happy every single day.

Thank you George for the patience and the vision. And special thank you also to our neighbor and pal @markc_oflaherty not only for the before and after photos and the moral support but for letting us use your kitchen in hour darkest hour!

Thoughts and prayers to anyone doing a home renovation. Consider this your sign to be bold, trust your instincts and believe that it’s true what they say, it’s all worth it in the end (even if you’re feeling murderous in the process.) 🍌

American born Aimee Phillips’ DJ sets are as diverse as her upbringing. Born in legendary music town Woodstock, New York and raised in NYC during the golden age of east coast hip hop and R&B, she eventually found her way to the dance floor and began a decade plus career in some of the most legendary gay clubs in downtown NYC which sparked a love for disco, house and pop anthems.

After moving to London in 2012, she got a crash course in British culture, falling head over heels for everything from Britpop to Grime. by @msaimeephillips

Everyone here is a work of art!

The annual Pride function @editionlondon morphed from a brunch to a gala dinner this year, in partnership with @boss @thelondonstandard and @terrencehigginstrust - and it was one for the books. Thank you to the @purplepr dream team - especially my right arm @domlbrown_ - thank you to @carolinelever and the @editionlondon team and to @selfesteemselfesteem for performing for us and to @donnie_sunshine and @bestley.world for soundtracking us to perfection. Thanks also to @veuveclicquot and @belvederevodka for keeping things delicious and lubricated and @karenstanleyphoto for the gorgy photo moments. So much love to everyone that attended, contributed and twirled for us. Oh what a wonderful Kiki.

Congratulations to everyone who got to experience @scissorsisters at @mightyhoopla ! We had such a ball plotting and planning that show, building on our shows from last spring and injecting them with sparkly homosexual steroids especially for Hoopla. Thank you to all of our special guests who we love deeply, especially @kellyosbourne who let me convince her to perform her absolute classic One Word, a song she hasn’t sung live in 20 years. Probably worth noting that I was a backup dancer for one of those early performances way back when…thankfully no footage exists.

Thanks to @glynfussell and @jamietagg for having us, and for trusting me to DJ on the main stage for the 4th year in a row. Did I mention I got to open for @thejanemcdonald ?!

Thanks to my partner in many crimes @jakeshears for roping me in for a margarita fueled B2B DJ set at the after party which by some miracle was actually flawless and the most fun ever.

Thank you @florahuddart for patiently interpreting chaotic demands and wild ideas and somehow styling everyone (including me) into the most magnificent rainbow of fashion magic.
