Terra Moda is an exercise in restraint.

With a home of this scale, what's often most powerful is what is left behind, leaving space for the craftsmanship of each detail to speak for itself. We approached the primary bathroom as a composition rather than a room to fill—intentionally layering materials and fixtures that elevate, not distract. A matte resin vanity quietly juxtaposed alongside oversized fluted wall panels. A backsplash of @icgitaliaporcelain tiles paired with oversized @cerno_group lighting. Luminous marble that comes alive in private, natural light.

Every detail is meticulously considered to support the rhythm of daily routines. Visit our link in bio to explore the full home.

Little snippet of our Land Park Project: with some very interesting pendants, sconces, and fan lights. The joy of our job as a general contractor, is that every client is different and that we should respect that. As we like to tell clients, as long as it functions well, and makes you feel good, then that’s all that really matters when it comes to a design choice. ❤️😊💡 this one definitely has a unique vibe.

More photographs to come soon. Just a teaser for now. ⚡️ taken in Land Park, Sacramento, California by @mthigginsconstruction

How to sleep amongst clouds…

Did you know lime painted walls are hand brushed in layers? Lime creates both visual depth in the space and an organic envelope that softens the experience of being there. Even whites, seemingly without tonal variance, have highlights and shadows - like clouds.

Every stroke matters because every nuance of pressure, and every whisper on the walls, every layer and overlap, creates dimension that shows up as the final result.

Take a peek and let your eye rest on the walls to allow the depth to reveal itself. It’s so quiet, which gives it sophistication.

This blushy white paint color is a favorite, White Clay from @coloratelier. Everybody looks good in a room backed with blush!

This distinctive home was exciting to be a part of and watch develop, detail after detail! Artful, bold and modern, yet quite grounded, organic, and inviting. That’s exceptional design.

Enjoy perusing!

Crestwood Way Project – Complete!

We’re thrilled to share a snippet of the finished Crestwood Way home, where our clients were able to move in just in time for Christmas 2025.
From the very first conversation to the final walkthrough, this project was a true collaboration. A huge thank you to:
• Architect: Dennis Greenbaum
• Designer: Kerstin Gardey @ateliergardey
for their vision and beautiful detailing throughout the home.
As the general contractor, MT Higgins Construction is especially proud of how this kitchen turned out — clean lines, warm walnut tones, and that stunning marble island that’s now the heart of the home.
Wishing our clients many years of joy and memories in their new space!

A whiskey bar moment worth lingering over ✨

This custom tambour island steals the show, featuring hidden pop-out doors seamlessly integrated into the tambour, completely invisible to the naked eye. Topped with a custom-carved stainless steel countertop, it’s both sculptural and functional.

Behind it, custom cabinetry with floating glass shelves is elevated by a solid brass backer, softly backlit to highlight the whiskey collection and curated décor. The rich textured wallpaper adds warmth and depth, while the statement linear light fixture floats above, casting a refined glow that ties everything together.

Beautifully designed by Kristen Elizabeth Design @kristenelizabethdesign and expertly completed by MT Higgins Construction @mthigginsconstruction —a perfect blend of craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless style. 🥃♥️✨ taken in Loomis, California by @mthigginsconstruction
