Our first-ever magazine feature. Project Land Park, in the October issue of @eastsaclocal_magazine Such a special milestone for Atelier Gardey, and I couldn’t think of a more meaningful project to celebrate it with. The sweetest clients, a genuinely collaborative team, and a shared vision for a home that would be as beautiful as it is functional. A full gut renovation and expanded living area gave us the opportunity to bring their wish list to life. Timeless and quietly modern, with earthy textures, natural materials, and a warm, neutral palette to enjoy for years to come. Thank you to our wonderful clients for their trust, architect Dennis Greenbaum, MT Higgins Construction @mthigginsconstruction , and every trade who brought such care to the details. So grateful to see this home and the work behind it—in print. Explore more of Project Land Park on our website, link in bio!

Soft plaster, natural stone.. Materials that are allowed to feel like themselves. For the #landpark primary bath, we leaned into honest materials and the natural variation that comes with them. Plastered walls wrap the entire space, creating a softness and depth that shifts throughout the day, while the movement in the stone brings its own character without needing much else. Rather than introducing too many finishes, we kept the palette restrained and let the texture, imperfections and subtle differences within each material become part of the design. We’re always drawn to spaces that don’t feel too precious or too perfect. Materials that can age, patina and become even better through actually being lived with. Quiet, tactile and collected — exactly how we wanted this space to feel.

Like any great dinner party guest, Terra Moda’s dining room knows how to hold a room. There is a sense of occasion here, but never formality for formality’s sake. Scale, reflection, texture, and shadow are used with intention—creating a room that feels glamorous without being precious, dramatic without demanding attention. And just beyond, the whiskey bar shifts the mood again: darker, more intimate, and made for lingering. A home can have many personalities. The best ones know how to move between them. Visit our link in bio to book a virtual consultation with Kristen from anywhere in the world via @tald.co. XKED Interior Design by @kristenelizabethdesign Photography by @stephanie__russo Styling by @bethprotass Creative Direction by @studiocadette Featured: @ochreochregallery · @districteight · @feizyrugs ____ Kristen Elizabeth Design is a Sacramento-based full-service interior design firm specializing in luxury new builds, remodels, and interior decorating. When our clients said, "Surprise us!" we turned to Black Label Home. Terra Moda's primary suite embodies the relaxed, luxurious, sculpturally unique ethos of the entire home, and we wanted to create a soft place that was exceptionally unique. Together with @blacklabelhome, we designed an oversized bed frame fully wrapped in @lamaisonpierrefrey with floating nightstands meant to sink into at the end of a long day. This one-of-a-kind piece is the sculptural statement that sets the tone for the entire room—equal parts plush and refined. @blacklabelhome brought our vision to life with unparalleled craftsmanship, making this "wow" moment for our clients all the sweeter. Visit our link in bio to view the full project. XKED Interior Design by @kristenelizabethdesign Custom furnishings by @blacklabelhome Construction by @mthigginsconstruction Photography by @stephanie___russo Styling by @bethprotass Creative Direction by @studiocadette ___________ Kristen Elizabeth Design is a Sacramento-based full-service interior design firm established in 2011. Meet Terra Moda, where a blank modern box became a home with soul. Every space was designed to flow into the next while holding its own distinct character — a coffered ceiling adding depth and dimension, a fireplace wall wrapped in inset metal cabinetry, hand-knotted rugs, and a primary suite reimagined from the studs up with curves, texture, and warmth. A silver leaf ceiling sets the stage for a chandelier dripping with over 100 crystal drops. A moody whiskey bar wrapped in tambour and pewter. A secret arcade hidden behind a wall, just for fun. Terracina is proof that restraint and wow factor aren't opposites, but a necessary tension. Refined materials, custom fabrication, and a whole lot of problem-solving with our trade partners made Terra Moda one of our most ambitious projects yet. Visit our link in bio to book a virtual consultation from anywhere in the world via @tald.co. XKED Interior Design by @kristenelizabethdesign Construction by @mthigginsconstruction Photography by @stephanie___russo Styling by @bethprotass Creative Direction by @studiocadette ___ Kristen Elizabeth Design is a Sacramento-based full-service interior design firm that specializes in luxury new build, remodeling, and interior decorating services. How to sleep amongst clouds… Did you know lime painted walls are hand brushed in layers? Lime creates both visual depth in the space and an organic envelope that softens the experience of being there. Even whites, seemingly without tonal variance, have highlights and shadows - like clouds. Every stroke matters because every nuance of pressure, and every whisper on the walls, every layer and overlap, creates dimension that shows up as the final result. Take a peek and let your eye rest on the walls to allow the depth to reveal itself. It’s so quiet, which gives it sophistication. This blushy white paint color is a favorite, White Clay from @coloratelier. Everybody looks good in a room backed with blush! This distinctive home was exciting to be a part of and watch develop, detail after detail! Artful, bold and modern, yet quite grounded, organic, and inviting. That’s exceptional design. Enjoy perusing! Interior design thoughtfully curated by @kristenelizabethdesign Construction lovingly built by @mthigginsconstruction What a team. Bravo!✨ #luxuryinteriordesign #handpaintedwalls #limepaint

Terra Moda wasn't just tailor-made; it was invented. Every detail of Terra Moda's primary bathroom invited a level of customization that allowed our team's creativity to truly shine. Floating vanities set and wrapped inside an open box, matte resin started as a "what if," and together with @mthigginsconstruction and @mt.shastamillworks, we leveraged our combined decades of craftsmanship to create something deeply personal and completely original. The result is a quiet statement that lives in the details.
