I've had the privilege of doing a lot of amazing things in 30+ years on this earth, but living the gospel and gaining a relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are easily the most incredible of all.
The latest enhancements to the temple endowment have helped me gain a better understanding of the Savior and my purpose here on earth, even better than before.

I highly recommend taking a trip with your mom!
We visited Poland (the motherland), Czechia, Slovakia, and Finland.
The coolest part was the family history. Not that we found any records of our ancestors in Poland; but in having so much undivided time together, I learned so much about her and her life. I learned indepth about her conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her audacious move to Utah. She had nothing, but she went because she knew it was the right thing to do. And that seemed to be the theme in so many of her stories. Though she proclaimed (and still proclaims) to be a shy person, her repeated actions throughout her life prove her to be the quintessential definition of a bold, God-fearing and God-loving, pioneer woman.
Boy, am I proud to call her, Momma! 🤟💥🤟

4 months of feeling right at home with you by @mtndan1

On 8 July, my buddy Jeff sent me the Instagram story of @57_peaks, a mountaineering page ranking the 57 Ultra-prominent peaks in the lower 48.
It read,
"LOOKING FOR A PARTNER
FOR GLACIER PEAK, WA
JULY 14TH
WANTING TO DO C2C.
MONSTER DAY
DM ME IF THAT'S IN YOUR
WHEELHOUSE AND WANT
TO GIVE IT A GO"
...
Glacier peak is the most remote stratovolcano in Washington. The route is 36 miles w/ ~11k ft of gain & involves glacier travel.
Most parties take a few days to complete it, but the 57Peaks guy, Weston, wanted to do it in one.
I thought to myself, who is crazy enough to drop everything and make it out to Washington for an ultra-marathon attempt at a mountain, with a total stranger, on less than a week's notice?
...
Then I realized... "oh wait, I am." 😅
...
So I sent Weston a message that said,
"I could pull that off. Lmk"
...
Well, fast forward to Monday afternoon, & I'm meeting this stranger from the internet at the airport.
...
Now, I'll spare you the novel on how amazing the hike was or a lecture on how spontaneity and ambition pays off.
Sufficeth to say, the views were SPECTACULAR and I feel really blessed to complete such a fun objective!

Via ferrata (Italian for "iron path") is a climbing route in the mountains which utilizes steel cables and iron rungs anchored to the rock. Climbers attach themselves to the cable with two leashes, providing a fail-safe in the event of a fall.
The iron path allows a climber to safely traverse an otherwise precarious route through the mountains without the risks of unprotected climbing.
Just stay on the path, don't let go, and you'll be totally fine.
The effect is the same with living the gospel. Just stay on the straight and narrow path, don't let go of the iron rod (the word of God), and you'll be totally fine.
President Harold B. Lee once said, "within the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may be found a bulwark to safeguard against the pitfalls, the frustrations, and the wickedness in the world.
"The mission of this church is to bear witness of the truths of the gospel and put to flight the false teachings on every side that are causing the restlessness and the aimlessness that threaten all who have not found the straight path and that which could be an anchor to their souls."
I stand as a witness that living the gospel of Jesus Christ does not impede life or love of the outdoors-- it enhances it!

Solo bikepacking trip through the Australian bush was "sweet as!" 🇦🇺
Despite the airline sending my bike to Texas instead of Sydney, and not being able to begin my ride on time, I was still able to complete the route by the grace of God and some amazing angels along the way.
Highlights: being all alone in the remote wilderness, the views (eucalyptus trees and canopy covered valleys), watching my first cricket match with the funniest fans, American Thanksgiving dinner and late-night gospel discussions with local church members, kayaking the Kangaroo River, catching an orange spider wasp in my shirt while riding and getting stung multiple times (don't bike in Australia with your shirt unzipped), the Big Arch from Maccas (McDonald's), kangaroos jumping out in front of me while riding (especially after dark), riding on the left side of the road, wide variety of wild birds (and their crazy sounds), 4am fire evacuation from the hostel because some guys decided to vape in the lobby, delicious meat pies, and finally... not dying!
"Wild places reward those who show up with respect and grit."

Traded in the "turkey trot" for a "kangaroo hop" this year.
Happy Thanksgiving from the land down under!
