Want to save the world? Start with a potluck.

Okay, there may be some other ways to start, but sign us up for the option that includes building a community around a bevy of casseroles. Join us on Tuesday, September 29 at 12:00 pm as we close out Changemakers with a keynote from Garrett Bucks. Prepare to be heartwarmed.

Plus! If you're in Helena, Missoula, or Fort Belknap, you can join a community watch party. Swipe for details.

A big thanks goes out to @murdocktrust for sponsoring Changemakers. We're lucky to be in community with such a supportive partner! by @mtnonprofit

Can't believe it's already been a week since we sat in a room watching @shannon_stober burn the house down and light a fire in 300 hearts.

On Tuesday we're wrapping up #CHANGEMAKERSconference with a closing keynote from the one and only @garrettbucks . Shannon told us to find our authentic, audacious selves.

@oppbankofmt understands that community building happens all year round.

This year, they’ve partnered with MNA Ambassadors to host 12 lunches in rural communities across the state, sponsored our 2026 Fundraising Summit in Great Falls, and are sponsoring our 2026 Annual Conference in Helena, MT.

We are grateful for their continued support for changemakers in every corner of our state. by @mtnonprofit

Montana’s fight against invasive mussels relies on dedicated nonprofits like the Invasive Species Action Network, but long-promised and long-overdue federal funds are putting critical prevention efforts on hold. Other Montana nonprofits are facing similar funding frustrations.

Nonprofits have faced months-long federal funding delays and abrupt changes to systems and requirements with little explanation. This situation is occurring sector-wide.

A recent editorial from our Executive Director explains how federal dysfunction and disruptions in funding threaten nonprofits' ability to do their work—and ultimately, Montana bears the cost.

This might be niche, but that's kind of our thing. 📻️ 💿️ 🎙️

Vaughn Zenko, an MNA Rural Ambassador, nonprofit pro, and former radio host, shared some tips on creating radio PSAs. Whether you're advertising a free public event or getting the word out about local services, Public Service Announcements are free and can be a great way to advertise for your organization.

Here's a short roundup of Vaugn's tips - there's more in our Resource Library! Link in bio/comments by @mtnonprofit

August 17 is National Nonprofit Day—a day to recognize and celebrate the hard work of the nearly 10,000 nonprofits in Montana.

Three cheers for all the ways nonprofits support healthy Montana communities.

Nonprofits are supported by a variety of revenue streams. Some rely on individual donations. Some run small money-making businesses like thrift stores to fund their mission. Others receive grants from large private foundations. Many partner with local, state, and federal government to provide critical services to citizens.

For many nonprofits, revenue is like a house of cards holding up their projects.

Over the past eighteen months, organizations that rely on federal funding have faced months-long delays and abrupt changes to systems and requirements with little explanation. They have built programs, leased buildings, and hired staff - not on a dream but on real contracts, grant awards, and promises from the federal government. Without that funding -- or when invoices are paid months after services are delivered, the whole organization can be in jeopardy.

Today, along with 80 nonprofits, we sent a letter to the Montana Congressional Delegation, asking them to protect the stability and timeliness of federal funding for communities across Montana. by @mtnonprofit
