Il libro raccoglie una serie di immagini realizzate presso un molo pubblico per il carico e lo scarico delle merci situato sulla costa occidentale di Hong Kong.
Nel tempo, questo spazio funzionale si è trasformato in luogo di osservazione, diventando una meta frequentata da persone che vi si recano per scattare selfie e foto panoramiche del tramonto.
Il molo si configura così come un luogo di transizione, tra esperienza diretta e rappresentazione digitale.
Il gesto di fotografare riflette il desiderio di costruire e condividere un’immagine idealizzata della propria vita attraverso i social media, dando forma a un immaginario Instagram-driven in cui pose, gesti e inquadrature si ripetono secondo un codice visivo.

Al progetto è dedicato anche il profilo Instagram @insta_pier, che ne amplia la riflessione ed evidenzia come gli spazi pubblici vengano sempre più vissuti e rappresentati attraverso le logiche della visibilità e della condivisione.

Surnommée le quai d’Instagram, cette jetée est un espace liminal entre réel et virtuel, un témoignage de la porosité grandissante entre nos existences physiques et nos avatars digitaux. Pour documenter les coulisses du lieu, le photographe Pierfrancesco Celada imagine un projet éditorial et une exposition numérique révélant la production cyclique de ces mises en scène de soi impulsées par les algorithmes. Est-ce Instagram, créature affamée d’images, qui pousse les habitants à cultiver un rapport exotique à leur propre lieu de vie ?

It is my great pleasure to introduce you to my first Venetian project:

Jeff P. Bezos, King of Amazon
Wedding Parade in Canal Grande, 2025
Art Puzzle, 500 pieces, ca. 35 x 50 cm

June 27 will mark the first wedding anniversary of Lauren Sánchez and Jeff P. Bezos, founder of Amazon. The couple married in 2025 in Venice, a setting associated with ceremony, the display of wealth, and the historical staging of power.
Their three-day wedding celebrations quickly became a controversial event for the city, attracting vivid protests and intense media attention from around the world, reigniting ongoing debates about Venice’s continuing struggle with overtourism and the persistent use of the city as a consumable image.
The 500-piece art puzzle is conceived as an anniversary gift, translating this moment into a collectible and participatory object. Jeff P. Bezos, King of Amazon; Wedding Parade in Canal Grande, 2025 features the newly married couple accompanied by an entourage of private security, police, and paparazzi.
The scene is rendered in the visual language of traditional Venetian vedute, echoing the style of 18th-century painters who transformed the city into a reproducible image. Through this approach, the work situates a contemporary spectacle within a historical framework, blurring the line between documentation and invention while inviting the viewer to reconstruct the image piece by piece. by @muddyisland

«One a day» — перша книга серії «The island» від @muddyisland

"Під час пандемії я проводив більшість своїх днів на острові. Він дав притулок мені та моїй родині. Раз на день власниця місцевої овочевої крамниці спалює пахощі, щоб побажати своєму бізнесу добробуту. Мені подобається думати, що в ті складні часи ці підношення забезпечували захист для нас усіх".

@muddyisland muddyisland було засновано у 2021 році @fotografante на невеликому острові в Південно-Китайському морі й наразі працює з острова Мурано.

"One a day" — the first book in the "The Island" series by @muddyisland.

"During the pandemic, I spent most of my days on the island. It gave shelter to me and my family. Once a day, the owner of the local vegetable shop burns incense to wish prosperity for her business. I like to think that in those difficult times, these offerings provided protection for all of us."

@muddyisland was founded in 2021 by @fotografante on a small island in the South China Sea and is currently based on the island of Murano.

A selection of Muddyisland books is travelling to Ireland this weekend.

Tsundoku Art Book Fair returns with a programme of events running 17–19 April at the @image.museum.ireland
During the weekend, visitors can enjoy publications from 80 publishers from around the world, alongside a selection from The Library Project’s latest arrivals.
