Adventure time!!!🔥🎬

Worked as a Fixer & Assistant Director on the travel show Echappées Belles 🇫🇷 — and what a journey it was.

From the energy of Kampala, to the calm of Ssese islands, to standing face-to-face with gorillas in Bwindi, and exploring the wild beauty of Murchison Falls… Uganda showed up in every frame.

But beyond the landscapes, it was the people, the communities, and the stories that made this project unforgettable.

Big respect to an amazing team:
Director Franck Poirier
Host Ismaël Khelifa
Sound Sylvain Delecroix
Régis Croizer (2nd Unit)
And local support from the one and only Otim

Produced with Akili Partners, Grassrootz Adventure Uganda & Bo Travail 🙌🏾

Special thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Economic and Commercial Diplomacy Programme & the Uganda Embassy in Paris 🇺🇬🇫🇷

Grateful to be part of telling this story to the world.

🎬✨ Closing Night Highlights!

Yesterday was the closing night of the 3rd Edition of @matatufilmstage Uganda, and what a beautiful evening it was. 🌍💛
We had a full house, great energy, and so much excitement about the films that screened. The atmosphere was full of love for cinema. 🍿🎥

It has been a full week of action with workshops, panel talks, Kibanda screenings, cinema screenings, work-in-progress sessions, and so many networking opportunities; to connect and learn. 🚐💬

We are so grateful to all our amazing partners, collaborators, filmmakers, cinephiles, mentors, volunteers, our local community audience, and the incredible @film.possible team. You all made sure the 3rd Edition started and closed in style. 🙏💪

This Uganda Edition has been a success, and we can’t wait to take the cinema on the road to other countries and communities. 🌍✨
This is not the end, it is just the beginning of the 3rd Edition. Thank you for being part of the journey. 🚐💛

🎬 Theme: Cinema Is Food, But People Are Starving.

We have really served great cinema. 🍿💫

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES…

One of the most important things that happened during the last week of @matatufilmstage was community screenings in the bibandas.

The organisers of Matatu took a selection of films to areas of Katwe, Namuwongo etc and this ignited a fire of love for African films in a new crowd of locals. People appreciated the films and even asked for more.

Yesterday I went to the kibanda in Katwe with @mugumedavidson , @lesham_film_producer , Shareef and we were impressed. We need to serve more local films to the people.

🎬🎬🎬📢📢📢Excitement is building up for the Matatu Film Stage 3rd edition, scheduled for October 4th to 10th!!! 🎥📽️🎉Yes this year we have gone bigger with a full week of film screenings and panel discussions. Patience and I are thrilled to have had a productive meeting with Mrs. Julianne R. Mweheire, Director of Content Development and Industry Affairs at Uganda Communications Commission (UCC). We discussed our shared goals of empowering youth in the film industry, a significant job creator, and explored ways to enhance film distribution and collaboration. By working together, we aim to unlock the potential of Uganda's film industry and promote cultural exchange. Let's collaborate to make this event a success and drive growth in the creative sector. 📢📢🎬

My City
Kampala's hills rise high and bright,
A city of beauty, full of life and light.
The sun sets over Lubiri's majestic frame,
The city's energy pulses through each vibrant claim,
In Kampala's heart, culture and joy remain.
This is my city! by @mugumedavidson

‎Chapter 4: First Contact
This is one of my favorites because that is when I meet our cousins, the mountain gorillas, for the very first time!‎ I went to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to study the critically endangered mountain gorillas and it changed my life! Enjoy the video...

My book Walking with Gorillas is available in both hard copy and audio format on all major platforms.
