Mullerthal Trail Route 2 Day 1 🍁✅

19km through stunning autumnal forests in the Mullerthal region in Luxembourg starting at Echternach and ending in Hersberg where we got the (free!) bus back to Echternach.

The forests of Luxembourg 📸🍃🥾 Mullerthal Trail

📍 Mullerthal Region, Luxembourg 🇱🇺

Also known as Little Switzerland of Luxembourg, the region is characterised by sandstone rock formations, moss-covered rocks, wooded and winding hiking trails.

🥾 The 30 km route covered part of the Mullerthal Trail:
Consdorf → Berdorf → Echternach.

The trail is mostly flat, with occasional steps and short uphill sections through the rocky terrain.

A landscape of textures, contrasts and natural formations, making the Mullerthal part of Luxembourg particularly interesting to explore, hike and photograph.

I’ve hiked the popular trails in Luxembourg more than once, but autumn is still my favorite season to visit. 🍁 The colors and the foggy mornings were absolutely magical this time.

Here are my 3 favorite stages 👇

I was invited by my friends at @deuterbenelux @injinjibenelux @lowa.benelux @maiersports @leki.outdoor and @siggbenelux to test new gear and explore a mix of new and familiar routes.

🥾 1. Mullerthal Trail, stage 2
My absolute favorite stage. Sandstone rock formations, mossy gorges and narrow passages that feel like a different world. @mullerthaltrail

🥾 2. Lee Trail, stage 2
A quiet walk through the forest that ends on an incredible ridge. @escapardenne

🥾 3. Minett Trail, stage 2
This was a new trail for me. A 16 km day through forest and old mining landscapes, with plenty of variety along the way. You can start and finish at a train station, so no car needed. @visitminett

Add these to your hiking bucket list. Oh, and it’s not too late to plan a last-minute autumn getaway to explore this amazing country 🍂

Some views are worth the climb. And this is definitely one of them. 🏰🍂

The Local Hiking Trail M4 takes you from Medernach to Larochette and back – through forests, past impressive rock formations, along streams and across open landscapes.

One of the highlights? Salzdeebelchen, a scenic viewpoint offering a beautiful view of Larochette Castle. But there's plenty more to discover along the 13.7 km loop: a barefoot trail, the Ousterbuer spring, lovely spots for a break and plenty of beautiful forest paths. 🥾🌿

🥾 13.7 km circular hike
⏱️ Approx. 4 hours
📌 Start & finish: Medernach
