We’re so proud to share that The Water Well Project has received the Refugee Leadership Award at the 2026 Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence! 🏆

We’re incredibly grateful for this recognition and especially thankful to our wonderful community partners and leaders across the refugee sector who supported our nomination.

This award is a meaningful acknowledgement of the impact of our work and the difference that better health literacy can make in the lives of people from refugee backgrounds.

We’re so proud of our volunteer healthcare professionals and the wider team who make this work possible, and grateful to the communities who continue to welcome us and place their trust in us.

It was a beautiful evening celebrating alongside so many wonderful individuals and organisations doing amazing work across Victoria.

Select members of our Multicultural Youth Network (MYN) took part in a media workshop last night, facilitated by Channel 31.

Designed to develop participant skills in storytelling, presenting and content creation, the workshop empowers members to share their perspectives and highlight issues that matter to multicultural young people.

i started as a volunteer who just loved showing up.

on wednesday, i accepted the youth leadership award at the 2026 victorian multicultural awards for excellence, at government house!

volunteering turned into a traineeship at CMY. then an internship at the ABC. then advisory groups in metro and regional victoria, a public speaking agency, and now @culturespring .

and during covid, a passion project called @thebeginningproject . today it backs hundreds of young people across the west to find power in their stories and chase their dreams.

grateful is an understatement.

thank you @centre.for.multicultural.youth for the nomination. thank you to everyone who has backed me along the way🫶🏾

none of this happens alone. it happens with a village. i got a good one 🤍

this one’s for every young person with a story to tell...

Great to be at the Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria youth meet up yesterday delivering a content creation workshop with the C31 team.

We shared practical tips on creating impactful content, telling authentic stories, and using digital platforms to engage and grow communities. The ideas, conversations and enthusiasm in the room were incredible.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such an engaging session. We can’t wait to see the stories that emerge from this talented group.

Keep an eye on CTV+ this December to see the content and projects developed through the program come to life.

🏆💙💛 A moment of immense pride and gratitude!

What an honour to receive the 2026 Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence in Arts and Culture on behalf of the Ukrainian Women’s Association of Victoria, an organisation I am privileged to chair.

This recognition celebrates over 75 years of extraordinary Ukrainian women preserving our heritage, sharing our stories and enriching Australia’s multicultural life.

From our first Ukrainian-Australian Literary Festival to cultural exhibitions and our ongoing oral history project — we continue building on the legacy of those who came before us.

✨ The beautiful atmosphere at Government House made this moment even more special. Celebrating alongside inspiring people from Victoria’s diverse multicultural communities reminded me how much we can learn from and inspire one another.

❤️ This award belongs to generations of Ukrainian women — past, present and future!

What a wonderful evening at Government House for this year’s Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence. 🏆

Thank you @kashifbouns and @multiculturevic for the invitation. It was an honour to witness so many community leaders and volunteers recognised for their outstanding contributions to Victorian multiculturalism.

A special congratulations to Bihong Wang, the only Chinese recipient of the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll this year. I hope more Chinese community workers continue to be seen and recognised. ❤️

I also want to pay tribute to Vivienne Nguyen AM, former VMC Chairperson. Although her term has ended, her leadership and contributions continue to have a lasting impact on multicultural Victoria, and it was wonderful to see her recognised with a Commemoration of Service.

It was an honour to be the winner of a Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence in the Police Community Exemplary Award category. The award was presented to me by the Hon Margaret Gardner, Governor of Victoria, and Mike Bush CNZM, Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police, at Governor House. It was also a pleasure to speak with and meet the Hon Sonya Kilkenny MP, Attorney-General. I sincerely thank everyone who has nominated me for this award. Congratulations to all the award winners who are exceptional individuals and organisations working for the great state of Victoria. 🎉 I also thank Victoria Police for all they do to keep the community safe 🙏🙏 taken in Government House, Melbourne by @multiculturevic

WINNER 🌟 Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence in Media

3ZZZ are honoured to be the recipient of the Media Award in Australia’s longest-standing Multicultural Awards for Excellence.

At the awards ceremony last night, 3ZZZ President George Salloum and Manager Kat McGuffie represented the station, alongside Broadcasters Inisa (Albanian Program) and Matoc (Sudanese Program).

3ZZZ are proud to provide a trusted platform for multicultural Victorian communities to tell their stories in their own languages. This recognition celebrates all of our broadcasters who have been a voice for their communities throughout the highs, lows and important conversations.

Deeply honoured to be inducted onto the 2026 Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll.
To be recognised alongside so many people doing meaningful, important work in our communities is incredibly humbling.
My sincere thanks to @drsenemeren for the nomination, and for your ongoing support of this work.
To my ancestors and those who came before me, whose strength and sacrifice made my path possible, this belongs to you. And to the communities and patients who have trusted me with their stories: you shape everything I do.
This acknowledgement strengthens my commitment to working alongside marginalised communities, advancing health equity, and dismantling the structural racism that shapes who gets care, and who doesn’t.
