Vol. 4 was sooo FUN! 💫
Here’s a recap of our event in collaboration with @treatmeright.co

But first, thanks to @rb.anjangsana for the space and @lolomadethese for the cute stickers! 🌳🔖

Topics that we discussed:

➡️ Fajrin shared about neurodiversity and the common misconception of ADHD.
➡️ Reno & Puji shared about how each trauma and inner wound shape who we are now.
➡️ Dina shared a fiction that will soon make it to the big screen!
➡️ Didit shared with us that today’s society—with more advanced technology—doesn’t necessarily feel happier than in the previous era.
➡️ Reia reminded us that almost everything in our life, including language, is very political.
➡️ Raihan told us that sometimes the one that loves us the most is also the one that gave us the deepest wound.

Thank you everyone for coming to Temu Book Buddy Vol. 1❗️It was BEYOND my expectation! Lots of good vibezzz and cool insights brought onto the table 😼💥

▶️ Reno sebagai pengajar dengan insightnya tentang kekhawatiran zaman sekarang akan efek samping dari smartphone dan sosial media.

▶️ Cila yang juga seorang fasilitator murid dengan ketertarikannya akan kuliner Nusantara—juga membawa buku2 @edwardsuhadi yang menarik buat dibahas dewasa ini.

▶️ Ichak, salah satu penggemar buku @post_santa, membaca buku ibu Reda Gaudiamo tentang hubungan orangtua-anak yang ternyata bisa selucu dan seterbuka itu.

▶️ Fira yang bekerja di food tech industry berbagi tentang keberanian untuk menguhah sikap terhadap orang lain serta beberapa perilaku asian parent dan efeknya pada anak.

▶️ Fajrin dengan wishlistnya yang akhirnya baru bisa terbaca di 2025. Buku tentang pilihan-pilihan hidup yang penuh “what if”. Sebagai pengingat bahwa tidak ada hidup yang 100% ideal, dan semestinya kita mengapresiasi hal-hal kecil

▶️ Didit yang beberapa tahun terakhir tinggal di Thailand, berbagi tentang buku yang dekat sekali dengannya dan merekomendasikan ke semua orang untuk membaca buku heartwarming tersebut. Didit juga bercerita tentang kesusahannya mendapatkan visa Taiwan yang membuat kami semua jadi merasa tidak sendirian menghadapi masalah hidup.

📌 BOGOR! Who wants to have 📚 reading buddies, have someone to share your take to, and have a real human interaction while sipping ☕️ good coffee?

🙋🏽‍♂️ I will be hosting a less-interruption, reading together event where we can share our 💬 thoughts on the book afterwards so everyone can gain new insight!

Appreciating the present moment.

Hari ini ga ada rencana muluk-muluk dan kebetulan bisa mampir ke @studio.fulpara. Farhan @fulpara cerita tentang upcoming projectnya.

Tiba-tiba diajak test shot dan hasil fotonya di-print! Ada cetakan fisiknya. Sesuatu yang sudah mulai ditinggalkan, tapi sebetulnya begitu bermakna.

Menurutku, foto yang dicetak bisa ngasih efek lebih besar ke orang yang melihatnya, dibanding dengan foto digital. Mungkin karena lebih banyak sensori yang terlibat ketika memegang foto fisik, juga gestur saat memberikannya kepada orang lain. Ada yang merasa begitu juga?

Anyway, here’s the captured moment—the raw, unfiltered, no fancy bokeh, no preparation whatsoever. A reminder of who and how I used to be.

Sebenernya banyak hal kecil di kehidupan sehari-hari yang sering kelewat tanpa sadar. Padahal kalau kita mau kasih sedikit waktu dan perhatian, hal-hal kecil ini bisa bikin hati damai dan bikin inget kalo hidup isinya bukan cuma masalah aja.

Sama jangan lupa, bisa olahraga dengan nyaman, di cuaca sejuk, sambil ngelihat pemandangan yang baik, juga termasuk privilege. Let’s go manfaatin selagi bisa! 🏃🏽‍♂️ taken in Bogor, Jawa Barat, Indonesia by @munaffajrin

Sept - Oct 2024 is about self-exploration and trying new things! I feel like when you expose yourself to something you’re not familiar with, life becomes more interesting in some way 🙌🏽😃

Day one of going to the gym was a frightening experience to me. Did you guys feel the same? 😵‍💫

There was a day when I look myself in the mirror and didn’t like what I’m seeing. That’s when I thought I needed to make a change.

As I walk into the gym, I felt the gymtimidation. I remember a person said “who is this guy?” And the other person replied “I don’t know, maybe a new member.”

But I knew what I want to become. I want to be in a better shape. To have a healthier lifestyle. To build a good habit. To feel lighter. And nothing can stop me from achieving that. 👊🏽

From that moment, I realized I just need to believe in myself, overcome the obstacles, cut the noise, work it out, and tell myself: You Got This.

And now, for the first time in my life, I feel most confident more than ever. 🔴🔵

VSCO is so powerful, I love it. But as my priority shifted, I no longer use it that much. And I think it’s time to bid farewell.
