@innout pls sponsor us 🙏🏻😂

In-N-Out has always been one of our favorite places to dine at. When @nomnom_nam and I first started dating 6 years ago, I was trying to cut 20+ lbs for my powerlifting competition to qualify for Worlds and was on a strict diet. In-N-Out was the one of the few places I felt comfortable eating out at since I was able to easily track my macros and adjust what went on my burger (#tbt to protein style burger days). During our first year of dating, we probably went to @innout at least once a week. We would work out together, then enjoy a nice dinner at In-N-Out and get to know each other so lots of good memories are held here. We’ve probably gone to @innout at least 100 times and it never gets old and we’re always so excited to eat there.

I already knew years ago if we got engaged, one of the places we were definitely going to have our photoshoot at was at @innout. I really wanted to have their food truck at our wedding and was considering having our wedding in CA because they don’t offer their food trucks in Austin (only Dallas). I also wrote them an email to see if they would make an exception but I got no response … maybe this post will convince them 😂

“Mayak eggs” are so addicting and it’s super easy to make. I like to make a huge batch of these eggs for my meal prep for the week. The eggs are soft boiled so the inside has a nice jammy yolk that pairs so well with the marinade and is best served with a bowl of hot rice.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp salt
3 tbsp white vinegar
12 eggs (you can use up to 24 eggs with this recipe)
2 cups soy sauce
2 cups water
2 cups corn syrup, sugar, or honey
6 tbsp minced garlic
1 cup chopped green onions
4 tbsp sesame seeds
12 chopped thai chilis (optional)

Instructions:
1. Add 2 tbsp salt & 3 tbsp white vinegar to large pot of water and bring to a boil
2. Then add 12 eggs and boil for 6 min
3. After 6 min, add eggs directly into a large bowl with ice and water and let that sit for 10 min
4. Prep marinade - add 2 cups soy sauce, 2 cups water, 2 cups sugar, 6 tbsp minced garlic, 1 cup chopped green onions , 4 tbsp sesame seeds, 12 chopped thai chilis (optional) and mix well
5. Peel eggs after 10 min and then add eggs in the marinade. Marinate in the fridge for at least 24 hours
6. Serve over rice. Don’t waste the marinade and pour it over your favorite protein and/or veggies by @munchieswithsteph

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙚: 𝙅𝙖𝙥𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙚 (𝙆𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙂𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙉𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙨)

One of the dishes my mom used to always make for the holidays was japchae. This one is always a crowd pleaser and it’s so easy to make! You can add whatever meat/veggies you’d like and you can also make it vegetarian/vegan friendly.

Ingredients:
1 lb 4 oz sweet potato starch noodles
1 onion
1 yellow bell pepper
1 orange bell pepper
3 eggs
1 large spinach pack
4 green onion (cut into 2 inch pieces)
140 g shitake mushrooms
1 carrot
3 tbsp neutral oil
salt & pepper

Japchae Sauce:
5 minced garlic cloves
5 tbsp soy sauce
5 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp sesame oil
3 tbsp sesame seeds
1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:
1. Add spinach to boiling water. Then take out the spinach after 1 minute and rinse spinach under cold water and then drain & squeeze the water out. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce and set aside.
2. Sauté veggies individually with a little bit of oil and salt for 2 minutes each and set aside
3. Whisk 3 eggs and then add egg mixture to a hot pan with oil and cook on low-medium heat. Add salt. Then cut into thin strips (this will be used as a garnish at the end)
4. Cook noodles according to instructions on package and then drain and cut.
5. Add the noodles, veggies and sauce to one large mixing bowl and mix well.
6. Garnish with sesame seeds and egg and mix well by @munchieswithsteph

𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗥𝗬 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗢 𝗕𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗜𝗡 𝗡𝗬𝗖 🇵🇭🥐

@fromkora is a Filipino bakery that has literally been on my NYC food bucket list since before I even moved here. Safe to say, it did not disappoint. Everything was so so good! 🤎

We got to try quite a bit of their fall seasonal menu and some of their regular menu items and here’s everything we ordered:

Ensaymada Croissant - sugared buttered spread with loads of edam cheese

Short Rib & Mushroom Danish - mushroom béchamel, braised short rib, maitake mushroom

Leche Flan Ni Lola - flan cream, Lola Corazon’s beloved flan

Sweet Corn Old Fashioned - cornmeal old fashioned, dehydrated sweet corn, brown butter corn glaze, corn flakes

Kalabasa Croissant Tart - spiced kabocha flan, brown butter chantilly, and pepitas

Ube Donut - ube fried brioche with ube pastry cream, ube glaze, and purple yam chips

Halloween Cookie - not sure what was in this cookie but it was a special cookie for halloween

Black Sesame Latte - black sesame syrup, single shot espresso, black sesame rice crispy treat garnish

Concord Grape Matcha - concord grape compote, Kettl hojicha matcha, and concord grape garnish.

My standouts were definitely the short rib & mushroom danish, sweet corn old fashioned, leche flan ni nola and the ube donut. I was so sad that the person in front of me got the last adobo caramelized onion & cheese sourdough focaccia and will definitely be coming back for this.

Also, so glad we got to try the Concord grape matcha because it was their last weekend serving it. And don’t sleep on the black sesame latte either!

Definitely adding Kora to my list of NYC favorites. 🫶 by @munchieswithsteph

If you’ve been wanting a lip tattoo but prefer something subtle and natural looking, I highly recommend checking out @beckyla.beaute! She’s also been my go to lash tech ever since I moved to NYC so I knew I could trust her with my lips🫶🏻

I’ve been debating getting a lip tattoo for years but I was always scared it would look too intense. The Korean lip blush is the perfect option for anyone who wants a soft, natural looking tint. Our goal was to enhance my natural pinky lip color while keeping everything super subtle.

And if you’re a foodie like me, you know eating cute isn’t always an option😂 Between eating, wiping my mouth, and constantly reapplying lipstick, keeping my lip color fresh is honestly way too much work so this lip blush was perfect for someone like me.

The process honestly wasn’t too bad either! Becky applies numbing cream and can reapply it if needed, so don’t be afraid to communicate with her if you’re sensitive to pain.

If you’re in NYC and looking for a soft, natural looking lip blush, definitely check @beckyla.beaute out! by @munchieswithsteph

$𝟵𝟴 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗢𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗘 + 𝗨𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗦

This was our second time at @sushihayashiomakase but this time we checked out their new Williamsburg location.

You start with a 13 course fixed omakase, followed by two rounds of all you can eat sushi which includes lean tuna, fatty tuna, scallop and unagi.

We both beat our personal records from last time, with him eating 66 pieces and me eating 44 🫣 Needless to say, we were STUFFED. This time, we went heavier on the lean tuna instead of the otoro, which made the meal feel less heavy.

We also had multiple glasses of sake, and honestly, for $98 with unlimited drinks included, this is such a good deal if you love sushi and sake! by @munchieswithsteph

@maisonsun.nyc offers an intimate eight seat tasting menu in Brooklyn and provides a true chef’s counter experience in an open kitchen, with a menu inspired by Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

The menu features seafood, fresh herbs, rich broths, fire cooked dishes, and seriously creative flavor combinations. My favorites were the foie gras pad thai and their unique take on bún riêu.

They also work with incredible ingredients, including uni sourced directly from Toyosu Market, and play with unexpected combinations like shrimp paste and squid ice cream.

Every dish was packed with umami and I loved how creative and thoughtful the entire experience was 😍 by @munchieswithsteph

@torishin_ny_official was the first yakitori restaurant in the U.S. to receive a Michelin star, which they held for seven consecutive years.

We got their chef’s omakase, which really focuses on different cuts of chicken. Everything is so simple, but each piece is cooked perfectly - the meats were juicy, tender, and full of flavor.

My favorite skewers were definitely the chicken oyster and the “last dish”, the duck and chicken tsukune (meatball skewer).

What really surprised us, though, were the seasonal vegetables. The sweet potato came with this sweet pineapple glaze that reminded me of honey butter, and honestly, we could not stop talking about it. I also really enjoyed their corn cold soup, which is made with fresh corn and water without any added sugar. It was so refreshing and such a simple but delicious dish.

Overall, we had a great meal. I definitely want to come back and try their à la carte menu and order some of the other meats. by @munchieswithsteph

@marathonhkdiner is a stall inside LIC food hall serving up Hong Kong comfort food and classic favorites.

The crispy pork katsu with their signature black pepper sauce was something we never had with katsu and enjoyed it. Maybe it’s because I really love tomato soup, but I especially liked the HK style macaroni in tomato soup. It was warm and comforting, and as the weather gets cooler, it’s definitely something I’d go back for. And I absolutely loved the French toast. It was simple but decadent, and we completely finished it!

🍽️ WHAT WE ORDERED:

• Signature Crispy Pork Cutlet Rice with Black Pepper Sauce
• Black Pepper Beef Spaghetti
• HK-Style Macaroni in Tomato Soup with Beef & Onsen Egg
• Bolo Bun Cod Fish Burger
• Crispy Chicken Wings
• Hong Kong-Style French Toast
• Hong Kong-Style Milk Tea
• Milk Tea Red Bean Ice by @munchieswithsteph

For our anniversary this year, my husband and I went to a 1 course fine dining experience at @noksunyc, an intimate 15 seat chef’s counter serving contemporary Korean cuisine with Scandinavian influences and a strong focus on seafood.

We loved being able to watch the chefs prepare each course right in front of us, and everything we tried was incredible. The seafood dishes were definitely my favorites!

Such a unique and memorable dining experience, and the perfect spot for a special occasion. by @munchieswithsteph

This might be one of the most beautiful beachfront bars I’ve been to. We randomly stumbled upon @christogastrobar while walking around Naoussa trying to look for a bathroom and it ended up being such a hidden gem. You’re literally steps from the sea, and the views are unreal.

We sat downstairs because we wanted to be as close to the beach as possible, then made our way upstairs for more stunning views overlooking the water. And the cocktails were great too!

I haven’t seen a ton of people post about this spot and it doesn’t have a crazy number of reviews, which honestly made it feel even more special. Definitely add this one to your Paros list! by @munchieswithsteph

🇬🇷 𝗧𝗢𝗣 𝟱 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗦, 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗖𝗘 🇬🇷

If you’re heading to Paros, SAVE this for your food itinerary! These were some of our favorite meals from the trip:

1. Siparos (@siparos)
Everyone we talked to recommended making a resy here, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Get the fresh fish baked in coarse salt - the standout dish for us. All of their other dishes were great too! We also loved the grilled octopus, crab salad, and shrimp ceviche (it’s definitely not your standard ceviche).

Pro tip: Ask for a table by the water for the best views!

2. Sigi Ihthios (@sigi_ikthios)
My favorite dish of the entire trip was their shrimp orzo. Truly SO good. Try to make a resy in advance! We came here the first night, but the wait was too long, so we came back the second night and luckily got seated because someone was late to their reservation.

3. Mare Nostrum (@marenostrumrestaurant)
Right next door to Sigi Ihthios, and the stuffed squid with feta was a must order. We also loved their cuttlefish orzo. If you like seafood, this place is a must try! And make sure to ask for a table by the water.

4. Argo (@argoantiparorestaurant)
If you’re taking a day trip to Antiparos and want authentic Greek taverna food, don’t skip this one. The rabbit pappardelle is a must try! We also loved the baked feta with truffle honey and zucchini fries.

5. Kargas
And last but definitely not least… our favorite gyro of the entire trip. Both the pork and chicken were great but if I had to pick one, it would be the pork. by @munchieswithsteph
