Mt. Yale was a challenge beginning to end, throwing all four seasons at us during the 9+ hour climb.

14’er Number 15 of 53 in Colorado, was easily one of the hardest as the weather changed so frequently during the straight up climb the last 1.5 miles.

Great lesson, after the challenge of clouds making it so you can’t see 20 feet in front of you, follow the Cairns and ignore the ice in your hair, just keep going, there’s sunny skies above the clouds. by @murrcme

Some of the best partnerships in this industry come down to one thing: the sales rep, and their level of business acumen.

When that person understands the practice’s business as well as their own company’s goals, everyone wins — the rep, the manufacturer, and the practice all move in the same direction, and both win.

That’s exactly why it stood out to me when Galderma invested in their Strategic Accounts team this week through GAIN Business @gainbygalderma.usa — bringing in an outside perspective to sharpen their business acumen, not just their product knowledge.

I spent 11 years at Galderma, in both sales and leadership roles across both of the Rx and Aesthetics sides of the business, based in four different regions. I left in 2019 to go build a few things of my own.

This week, I got to walk back through those doors — not as an employee, but as a partner brought in to help train that same team. It’s a strange and grateful feeling to sit on both sides of that table now. Those 11 years taught me how a manufacturer thinks about growth and scale. The years since have taught me what that same partnership looks like from the PE Board Meeting, to physician dispensed skincare, and most recently, a practice’s perspective.

This is a different Father’s Day, after losing my Dad in January. Those that know me know I’ve had a complicated relationship (sons, today go read @drstevendayan latest post on Father’s and Son’s, it’s incredibly brilliant perspective) but the picture you see was a recent photo of us enjoying a Yuengling together.
