Monthly Catalyst Aesthetic Advisors update for September, and another example of providing advice even to the experts.

Recently I asked an AI research tool to find published benchmarks for a client deal. Its answer: there weren’t any. The numbers that mattered most don’t live in a published survey. The tool itself flagged the information as proprietary market intelligence. (!)

That insight comes from 20 years in this industry, 47 states, 5,000+ practice visits, and a network of people who pick up the phone.

I didn’t have it all figured out. I just went for it. And continue to do so.

A personal experience changed the way I saw myself and ultimately changed the direction of my life. It reminded me how powerful it can be when someone feels good again. Seen again. Like themselves again. 🙏

That became my WHY.

I didn’t have a perfect plan. I definitely didn’t know where it would lead. But I was intentional about the impact I wanted to make, so I started.

And I figured out the rest along the way & continue to as well.

I think sometimes we wait until we feel ready. Until we know enough. Until everything makes sense.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.
Know your why. Be intentional. Never lose yourself in the process. And go for it. No matter what. ✨

EP 100 drops this Friday. 🎙

I want to cry. I remember when this was a drawing on a piece of paper six years ago. My first guest was my sister, Dr. Mary Tracey.

I’m honored beyond words. Through this podcast, I’ve had the privilege of sitting down with some of the greatest minds in medical aesthetics, bringing that education to the people who may never be in the same room as these leaders and want to be their best.

I’ve had my client and friend Jeff Bedard, Chairman of Revance, who is endlessly inspirational, if you’re not following him on LinkedIn, fix that today. I’ve had Erika Barry, NP, a true testament to what consistency builds; she’s become one of the most recognized names in the industry through sheer staying power. I’ve had my great friend Christian Trujillo, one of the top CFO advisory firms in the industry. And the list goes on and on.

Aesthetic Next, you were a TIME. 🥂📸

A weekend full of learning, teaching, laughing until my face hurt, seeing old friends, making new ones, and somehow fitting about a month’s worth of conversations into a few days.

I always leave weekends like this feeling tired as hell but also incredibly grateful to be part of an industry that keeps evolving and keeps me on my toes.

Already missing everyone. But first, I need approximately 48 hours of silence. (which is not happening because I have my kid at home)😂🫶🏼

There will be more polished posts to come, but this one is just real life: blurry photos, random moments, my entire team, people I love and respect, a lot of learning, a lot of laughing, and a weekend I’m incredibly grateful for.

THANK YOU, @aesthetic_next, for once again trusting me to step on your stages, teach in your workshops, and be part of something that continues to push our industry forward.

I also had the incredible honor of speaking for both @galderma / @gainbygalderma.usa and @hydrafacial, two relationships that mean SO much to me because what I teach for these companies isn’t something created for a stage… It’s what happens inside my practice every single day. These products, technologies and philosophies have genuinely helped shape my career, and getting to share even a small piece of that from the stage is something I’ll never take lightly.

But conferences like this are about so much more than speaking. They’re about getting to sit beside, learn from, laugh with, and reconnect with colleagues who have poured into me, challenged me, taught me, and helped shape the provider I am today. Some of the people in these photos have influenced my career in ways they probably don’t even realize.

And this year, I got to bring my whole team along for it. 🥹 The people who support me behind the scenes, keep our practice moving, believe in what we’re building, and make so much of what I get to do possible.

15 years into aesthetics, I think one of the greatest gifts is realizing I’m somehow still this excited about it. Still curious. Still learning. Still grateful. Still surrounded by people who make me better. And still occasionally terrible at taking organized photos. 😂

Last week I joined The Patient Magnet @aestheticon.io podcast to talk about how important office vendor support is for a growing practice. A lot of our conversation centered on how to work with industry partners while you’re scaling — because those decisions have a direct impact on revenue.

From the industry side, that expertise is a value-add you have to weigh when choosing a partner. And from the practice side, there are so many more factors than just pricing — your time and experience are just as much on the table, so who you partner with matters just as much as what you’re buying.
