A very special moment in my journey.

Truly honoured to be featured in L’Officiel Türkiye, @lofficielturkiye sharing the story behind becoming a finalist for London Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards 2026.

What started as a dream many years ago has brought me to a moment I’m incredibly proud of — and one I’ll always remember.

A heartfelt thank you to L’Officiel Türkiye and @buketcengizalp_ for giving me the space to share my story and journey.

Mustafa’yla 20 yıllık bir arkadaşlığımız var.

Anadolu’dan Gültepe’ye, Gültepe’den Etiler’e, oradan da Londra’ya uzanan bir yolculuk onunki…

Şimdi, dünya saç trendlerine yön veren British Hairdressing Awards’ta finale kalan ilk Türk olarak hayalini dünyanın sahnesine taşıyor.

Ben bu hikâyenin Etiler’den sonraki bölümünün neredeyse tamamına en yakından şahit oldum. Bugün 20 yıllık arkadaşımla; onun hayal gücüyle, emeğiyle, azmiyle ve cesaretiyle gurur duyuyorum.

Back in the salon (The Nest-Home) @erroldouglasldn and straight into a little challenge.

Just back from Ibiza, where I travelled for a private VIP client, and today was my first day back in the salon.

My first client showed me an AI-generated image of the haircut she wanted and said, “I know it’s AI…”

I looked at it and simply said, “May I?” 😏

AI created the inspiration. I created the haircut.

From a dream in Turkey to a page in Hürriyet.

When I was 16–17, I used to look through international fashion magazines without understanding the language, dreaming that one day I would work in London.

Today, being recognised as one of the 6 finalists for London Hairdresser of the Year 2026 at the British Hairdressing Awards — and the first Turkish hairdresser to reach the finals in this category — makes this moment incredibly special.

The journey was never about where I started, but how far I was willing to go.

Thank you Hürriyet Pazar @hurriyetcomtr and Hazan Aköz Işık @hazanakoz for telling my story. And thank you to every mentor, colleague, client and friend who has been part of this journey. Special thanks to Errol Douglas and @davidmannah

There’s something truly special about being part of someone’s happiest day. 🤍

Bridal hair has taken me to beautiful places around the world, but for me, it has never been just about creating the perfect hairstyle.

It’s about being there in those quiet, exciting moments before everything begins — the nerves, the laughter, the family around you, and that unforgettable moment when a bride finally sees herself ready for the day.

To travel the world doing what I love and to be trusted with such an important part of someone’s story is something I will never take for granted.

Different countries, different cultures, different love stories — but the same beautiful feeling every time. 🤍

BEFORE → AFTER 🩷

It’s not always about changing the length — sometimes it’s about completely changing the attitude of the hair.

From a clean platinum bob to a soft blush pink, reshaped with a stronger silhouette and finished with movement, texture and a touch of drama.

Same girl. Same hair.
A completely different character.

For me, this is what hairdressing is about — seeing beyond what’s in front of you and discovering what else the hair can become.

Behind the scenes. Where the vision starts to take shape. ✨

Before the final image, there’s always the process — working with the hair, refining every detail, creating movement and finding the right balance between softness and structure.

For me, hairdressing has never been just about the finished photograph. It’s about the hands, the eye, the preparation and those small adjustments that eventually bring the whole vision together.

The final image lasts forever, but the magic happens behind the scenes.

It’s never just about cutting hair — it’s about understanding shape, balance and how every section connects.

Refining the graduation, controlling the weight and perfecting the outline to create a strong, clean bob with movement and character.

For me, the smallest details always make the biggest difference.

One cut. Different angles. Different attitudes.
Again all raw pictures!

A haircut should never exist from just one point of view. Every angle reveals something different — the shape, texture and movement constantly changing with the perspective.

The introduction of black into the blonde adds another dimension to the cut, making it sharper, more graphic and more edgy. Combined with the styling, there’s something almost Black Swan about it — dark, dramatic and slightly untamed.

Same hair. Same cut.
Different expressions from every direction.

These are the raw images — just the cut in its purest form.

For me, a haircut should never have only one identity.
Change the direction, movement or texture, and the same cut can tell a completely different story.

Tomorrow, I’ll share different versions of this same haircut — exploring how one shape can transform through styling while the structure remains the same.
