VELOCITY Italy 🇮🇹

Five contemporary models. Five distinct personalities. A shared vision brought to life.

Vivid cropped hair in platinum, pink, yellow and teal meets sculptural white looks and bold black star makeup. The result is graphic, futuristic and full of energy each model striking in their own right, yet even more powerful together.

Creating this show in Italy brought a real challenge. When you’re travelling the world to create a live hair show, every casting is different. Many of the models were understandably protective of their hair and initially wanted only a trim, while my vision for Velocity called for bold graphic cuts and colour.

As hairdressers, we have to listen, build trust and respect every model who puts their hair in our hands. That trust mattered. Together, we found a way to bring the concept to life and the finished work speaks for itself.

Velocity was about movement, courage and creative connection 📶 taking an idea across borders, meeting each challenge with respect, and creating something powerful together. I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved.

Every teaching session reminds me why I fell in love with hairdressing in the first place.

After a full day on your feet, you could easily go home, but investing in the next generation is one of the most rewarding parts of this profession. There is nothing quite like that moment when the penny drops when confidence grows, skills improve, and a future hairdresser begins to realise what is truly possible.

Hairdressing isn’t for everyone. It demands commitment, resilience, creativity, discipline, and heart. But for those who embrace it, it becomes so much more than a career it becomes a purpose.

Knowledge is one of the few things that grows when you give it away. We teach with no expectation of reward, only the satisfaction of seeing someone else believe in themselves and take another step towards their dream.

If you have a passion for hairdressing, share it. Inspire it. Pass it on. Because today’s students are tomorrow’s innovators, educators, salon owners, and industry leaders. Their future starts with someone willing to believe in them.

Hairdressing is widely considered one of the happiest and most rewarding careers, often ranking at the top for job satisfaction, creativity, and human connection. 📶 We have a duty to the next generation of young hair professionals.

Some moments in life fill your heart with so much pride that words never quite feel enough. This is one of them.

Today, I couldn’t be happier to celebrate @mustafaalan who has deservedly become a finalist for London Hairdresser of the Year.

Nobody sees the thousands of hours. The sacrifices. The missed family moments. The early starts, the late finishes, the pressure, the setbacks, the self doubt, and the determination to keep going when nobody is watching. But I do… because I’ve had the privilege of watching that journey firsthand.

Mustafa has never chased recognition. He has chased excellence.

He is an extraordinary hairdresser, a gifted educator, and one of the most committed professionals I have ever worked with. Whether we’re travelling the world on international shows, creating collections, working on photoshoots, educating the next generation, or simply supporting the team, he is always there.
