🎬I wrote 'Temple' in 2023, a film born from my lived experience of generational trauma and ancestral grief carried in the body as part of the post-genocide generation of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.

🎬This story is deeply personal, but it is also universal.

🎬It explores what it means to live with rage, pain, and anger, and the journey of moving through that weight in search of something greater: a return to divinity, to birthright, to freedom beyond an identity shaped by loss and suffering. It is about healing, reconnecting with the land, our lineages, and our divine capacity to love and be loved by God.

🎬'Temple' speaks to anyone impacted by colonial violence, genocide, or war to those who have ever questioned why so much pain exists, and what it means to carry it in the body.

🎬One of my favorite scenes shows me running deeper into a dark forest, chased by something unseen. Fear drives me forward until I collapse from exhaustion. The camera circles, revealing me sweating blood a visceral expression of trying to outrun the ancestral grief encoded in memory, in lineage, in blood.

🎬Last year, Temple was shortlisted at Berlin Commercial Festival and LA Shorts. I’m deeply grateful for how the film has been received.

🎬Through this work, I’ve found a way to transmute pain through artistry to alchemize heaviness into light, and to create space for healing through embodied storytelling and InforMotion.

🎬This is more than a film. It is a release. It is a remembering. It is a return.

For years I thought being a changemaker meant doing more.

More projects.
More organising.
More holding.
More fighting for the futures we believe are possible.

Through building Village101studios, working across film production, artistic activism, community restoration and culture architecture, I’ve witnessed the beauty of what happens when people come together around a shared vision.

But I’ve also witnessed something else.

The exhaustion of the changemaker.

The activist who knows how to fight for everyone but struggles to rest.

The artist imagining liberated futures while their own nervous system is still living in survival.

The community leader holding space for everybody else while quietly asking:

Who holds the people doing the holding?

This question has become increasingly central to my work.

It sits inside my TEDx talk, “The Body Remembers the Future.”

It sits inside Village101.

It sits inside Ubuntu Village.

And it sits inside my understanding that we cannot build regenerative futures through bodies that are permanently running on urgency.

🌱 This is why ROOTED WE RISE feels important.

From 2–4 October, I’ll be in North Devon alongside a beautiful ecosystem of changemakers, artists, facilitators and community builders exploring another way.

My offering is:

THE BODY AS ARCHIVE — Decolonial Embodiment

A journey through interdisciplinary movement education, Qi Gong, somatic enquiry and embodied remembering.

Because decolonisation cannot only be something we read about.

It has to enter the body.

What are we carrying that was never ours?

What survival patterns have become identities?

What happens when the activist learns to soften without surrendering?

When the artist creates from abundance rather than depletion?

When our bodies begin rehearsing the futures our minds have been imagining?

For anyone who has spent years building, resisting, organising, creating, serving, questioning and dreaming of another world…

and somewhere along the journey realised:

I need another way of doing this.

This is the motion.🌍

Not retreating from change.

Rooting deeply enough to sustain it.

PRAYER TO THE ANCESTORS 🕊️🌍

An extract from Prayer to the Ancestors: created live through voice, rhythm, and the RC-505 Loop Station.

Today this prayer carries a different weight.

We share this moment in dedication to our brother Bingo, who has recently transitioned from this physical realm. 🕊️

May your spirit travel well.
May the love you planted continue to grow through those you touched.
May the ancestors receive you with open arms.

Some things we create before we understand why they will be needed.

This performance was always a prayer, but today, it becomes an offering.

For Bingo. For those who came before us. For those whose presence continues beyond what the eyes can see.

Rest in power, brother. 🕊️
Your frequency continues.

Chapter 32. We MOVE. 🌀🔥

Grateful for every version of me that had to fall away, so this one could arrive. Real Talk! Purity reins from each Initiation on Initiation! it’s not been easy, and hardly a walk in the park yet my calling has sharpened my sword and my senses resourced to traverse the path less traveled beyond the shores of comfort to the depth of my divinity in true unity within the ocean of my soul

More life. More truth. More courage. More LOVE.
Less proving. More BEING.

I’m entering this chapter with my heart open, my vision clear, and a deeper commitment to leave this world more beautiful than I found it.
