Hi, my name is Julianne and I said no the Western way of parenthood. I didn’t want motherhood to feel lonely. So I chose nature and community at @laecovilla. For the past 5 years I have been supporting my husband @mvalansi build more of these havens. Him and I are both passionate about finding lands that need to be regenerated mainly through permaculture and forest & wildlife protection, as well as building strong and resilient communities. We believe that we were never meant to do life all alone. We believe that nature is our home and that humans need each other. This lifestyle allow us to feel supported and enjoy a rich social life while spending most of our days outside and watching our son grow up in this wholesome environment. I’d love to share more of our journey with you. And who knows… maybe one day we’ll be neighbours too! 💖 by @mvalansi

Marcelo grew up in Buenos Aires, surrounded by concrete and disconnected from nature. As a young boy, he would travel to Patagonia just to immerse himself in landscapes that felt bigger than life. School meant sitting still, memorizing, and repeating. But at home, he’d open SimCity and spend hours designing streets, homes, and communities people would actually want to live in. He’s still building today. Only now, he’s doing it at a real-life scale. Looking back, the signs seem obvious. Don’t they? Comment WEBINAR to ask him yourself. #laecovilla #costarica #intentionalcommunity #regenerativecommunity . . . . Comentá WEBINAR para preguntárselo vos mismo. by @mvalansi
"Maybe community isn't a luxury. Maybe it's the environment humans need to thrive", says Marcelo Valansi, Ecovilla’s Founder. Shared meals. Music nights. Bonfires. Deep conversations that just happen. Not because anyone has to, but because people naturally want to contribute when they feel connected. We weren't meant to do life alone. Do you agree? ¿Vos qué pensás? by @mvalansi
We’ve lived in many wonderful places with our family, but this jungle community helped us take a very sacred pause 🤍✨🌿. You know that feeling when you are living in a neighbourhood where nobody really knows each other and you feel so disconnected from everyONE and everyTHING? Marcelo Valansi, cofounder and CEO of @laecovilla , felt that way, too. So he followed his intuition and that led him here, to San Mateo, in the Alajuela province of Costa Rica, where he brought his dreams of creating a conscious community to life! If you’ve ever dreamed of living in a place that made you feel more connected…to nature, to other people, to the food you eat, to YOURSELF…this episode is for you!✨🌿☀️ 🎥 ✨EnRoute to Discovery Episode #06 is live ~ link in our bio for full episode! “Development is one of the most polluting industries in the world.” That is how Marcelo answers when people ask why he started La Ecovilla in Costa Rica. It was never about what Costa Rica offered him. It was about finding somewhere that prioritized environmental sustainability. About finding land already impacted, ready to be regenerated instead of cleared. About joining a culture that celebrates caring for this earth. In Part 2 of our conversation, Marcelo breaks down why Costa Rica was the necessary foundation. Missed Part 1? Go back and watch it on our page. Comment WEBINAR to join our next live Q+A with Marcelo on Friday, May 8th at 1 pm CST. You might know La Ecovilla from Zac Efron’s “Down to Earth” on Netflix. What the cameras didn’t show was what came next. When they filmed that episode, Marcelo was walking through the hardest chapter of his life. In the space that followed, a piece of land found him. 220 hectares along the Machuca River, in desperate need of regeneration. What he built there became Ecovilla San Mateo. Hear the full story from Marcelo himself. Comment NETFLIX and we’ll send you the video. #CostaRica #Ecovilla #downtoearth #zacefron #IntentionalCommunity by @mvalansi
Marcelo Valansi, founder of La Ecovilla, gets asked one question often: Why Costa Rica? His first answer is simple. Why not? The real answer is longer. More than 5% of the world’s biodiversity lives here. Over 25% of the land is protected. Almost 100% of the energy comes from renewable sources. For more than 70 years, there has been no army. Tax dollars go to health and education instead. That history belongs to the Costa Rican people, los Ticos, who built it and live it every day. We came here to learn from that, not to change it. To raise families alongside neighbors who have been stewarding this land far longer than we have. Marcelo says it plainly. He loves this country. He loves its people. Want to ask Marcelo your own questions? Comment “WEBINAR” and we’ll send you the link to our next live Q+A with him. #ecovilla #costarica #intentionalliving #puravida by @mvalansi
