A little video recap of my first time attending a Counter Culture event! A few weeks back I attended Counter Culture Boston at @dorchesterbrewing and had an amazing time. So fun to spend a day nerding out with my fellow cheese peeps and tasting so many great cheeses. I came away from the day energized and inspired!

“Congratulations – You Are Now an ACS Certified Cheese Professional®”

I had been anxiously awaiting this notification since taking the CCP exam back in July. So proud to achieve this cheese career milestone, sitting for and passing an exam that tests a wide breadth of knowledge from dairy farming, to cheesemaking, to history and tradition, to supply chain and distribution, to retail operations and food service. I managed to carve out time to study, while Oscar napped, while Aurora played, while grandparents stepped in and wrangled them both. It feels SO GOOD to set this goal for myself and really commit and follow all the way through.

Teaming up with Kaitie from @socialcoast.mv for this “Cocktails and Charcuterie Boards” workshop was SO FUN! Participants learned how to make a few cocktails, and then I shared tips and tricks for composing a show-stopping charcuterie board. And then when everyone left and we were cleaning up Kaitie made me an insanely delicious margarita. Wheeee!

Episode 10 Baby Led Cheesing! In Ohio! With the cousins! Courtesy of @mariekegouda ✨

Anyone remember waaaay back in April, when Alex and I road-tripped to Ohio so that we could ditch our kids with my parents so we could galavant off to Italy? Well! Just days before we left for that road trip, our friends at Marieke Gouda sent us a box of cheese to enjoy. So we popped the whole thing in the cooler and brought it to Ohio with us so we could share it with the whole fam!

This episode really has it all! Cheese-themed children’s books! Nose picking! Baby wiggles! Attempted spicing! Toddler sass! Grabby hands! Babies impersonating claw machines!

Thanks Marieke for making award-winning Gouda and sharing it with us 🥹

I’m so grateful to the Slough team for trusting my vision when I said “I’d love to host a class celebrating snacking where we literally make the snack plate”. Meeting of the Milkmaids photo dump!

A few weeks back, I was lucky enough to attend the fourth annual Meeting of the Milkmaids gathering. I was an attendee of the inaugural gathering a few years back, and WOW it was so impressive to see how the group has grown and matured in just a few short years. The community and camaraderie of the milkmaids is really something special.

This year’s speakers were my fav cheese witch @cheesesexdeath and the formidable world champ cheesemonger @emdalbero. Holy cow, what a duo. I’m working on a Substack post about my takeaways from their presentations. So many incredible insights shared ✨

It was so wonderful to gather with this community of likeminded cheese nerds, enjoy the awesome venue provided by @highlawnfarm, reconnect with friends, and taste a fabulous spread of cheeses! Here’s to many more @officialmeetingofthemilkmaids gatherings 👏 taken in High Lawn Farm by @mvcheesery
