I used denim from old jeans, shirt fabric for the back, and a fleece blanket for batting in my first quilt—because that’s what I had.
And guess what? That quilt still kept me warm. And @anne_marie_crafts, you are absolutely rocking it your way and I'm so jazzed you kept on quilting anyway!

I've been trying to film this video for over a year. I kept trying to get the words right… or the tone right… but I couldn’t. Because I wasn’t there yet. I hadn’t healed enough to *be* the version of me that could say it like this. But I’m here now.

This isn’t a comeback. It’s a reintroduction. And if you’ve been following me through all of it - especially here - you probably felt the shift before I ever said a word. This is the moment I finally say it out loud. Thank you for being here. Truly. by @mx.domestic

Remember when I said I was making a Kaleidoscope weave with each of my four Handloom bundles? Apparently I meant eventually. 😂

Daiquiri’s turn! 🍹 And omg these colors woven together.

Yes, I know it’s September and I’m still finishing Handloom preorders. 😅 Almost there AND almost all 65 colors are live individually.

Okay but this is ONE fabric. 🤯 I wove this entire panel using only Enchanted Ombre from One Layer Away, and I definitely made it bigger than planned because I wanted to keep seeing what the color shifts would do. 😂 Now I have absolutely no idea what I’m making with it, but OMG. Gorgeous.

This is pretty much exactly how I like to make things: start with an idea, follow it, realize something feels off, rip it out, try something else, and keep going until it clicks. 😂 I loved every detour, and the final quilting on this One Layer Away panel feels kinda magical.

Apparently cutting One Layer Away into tiny honeycombs and then sewing them all back together was exactly what I needed. 😂

A little English Paper Piecing, a few favorite notions, and a whole lot of slow stitching. This panel is headed for the front of my More-Than-a-Pocket Bag, and I am VERY into where this is going.

Apparently the best way for me to introduce One Layer Away by Seth Apter for FreeSpirit is to immediately start cutting it up and seeing what happens. 😂

I’ve got two projects going right now. One is an English paper pieced panel that already knows what it wants to be: a More-Than-a-Pocket Bag. The other started as “maybe I’ll weave enough fabric for a wallet,” and then I started laying down the strips and wanted to see MORE... so now I have this whole woven textile and absolutely no idea what it wants to become. And honestly? I love that part.

The coordinating One Layer Away Aurifil thread collection is coming along for the ride too, because there is a whole lot more stitching, quilting and construction ahead.

And yes, One Layer Away is now in the Mx Domestic shop, so you can play along while I figure out where these two pieces are taking me. EPP process reel coming. Weaving process reel coming. Actual finished things eventually coming. 😂

But first: what would YOU turn that woven piece into?

Apparently I ordered slightly too much Christmas fabric. 😅 So instead of pretending it doesn’t exist until November, I made Scandinavian Folded Star ornaments with @makoweruk 's Adorn collection… and I’m putting all Adorn plus other Christmas fabrics on sale for 20% off.

Too early for Christmas? Maybe.
Too early for beautiful fabric? Never. 🎄✨

Started this Bargello Wave while teaching at Quilter’s Affair and finally finished it at home. 🌈✨ It’s made with all 24 colors of my Stonewall Redux collection, and yes… I briefly considered turning it into a skirt. Helena immediately shut that idea down. 😂 The pattern and quilt kit are finally available, and honestly? I kind of love how this one turned out. ❤️ by @mx.domestic

One down… three to go. 💙💜 This is my Kaleidoscope weave using the Morning Glory Handloom bundle by @tarafaughnan with @windhamfabrics.

I started this one while teaching at Quilter’s Affair and finished it this morning. I knew these Handloom bundles would make incredible weaves, but… WOW. 🤩

My goal is to create one weave with each of the four Handloom bundles, and if this is how we’re starting… wow. One color is still on backorder, but preorders are open. Which bundle should I weave next? 💙💜🩵 by @mx.domestic

I’ve been slowly working through all of the projects I started while teaching at Quilter’s Affair, and this felt like the right place to start.

This class reminded me that weaving was just the excuse. The real magic was the people. IYKYK. ❤️
