A friend is teaching this fabric weaving class at @quiltstorebroomfield and needed some practice students. Obviously I got on board fast. I didn't have time to iron my fabric strips so I bought bias tape from @artpartscrc . We had a nice time, learned things and got some new supplies, like the book and tools by @mx.domestic and starch from the quilt store. I made a 6' square from part of my piece and will make a bag out of the rest. Very excited to have a new skill.

Am I a quilter? Swipe to see what I’ve been making all along. Sure, some are quilt tops only… and a lot of my quilts are baby-sized (but not all)… and quilting my own still makes me a bit nervous, but… here you have it. Maybe I am a maker who has simply sewn a bunch of quilts, and there wasn’t room here for me to share all of them in just 20 slides. But you get the gist… do you have a verdict? 😬😅

She deserves her own post. I am in love with this piece, obvi called “Nature Is Queer.” The inspiration for this came the instant that I saw @daughter_earth_illustration ‘s Love In The Wild fabric on @mx.domestic ‘s website. I just adore the style, the colors, and the fact that everything is backed up by science.

If someone ever says “but nature only has two genders,” please tell them that they need to go back to high school biology. Assume they received an edited version of conservative ecology. Cause nature is gay, nonbinary, and constantly evolving and changing.

This piece was also a practice for me in accepting beauty in the imperfections. I used free motion embroidery for the appliqué and forced myself to just keep going rather than attempt to make it exact. Nature is messy and so am I.

🎶oops I did it again 🎶 I couldn’t help myself. I also will ALWAYS support our LGBTQ & PDX community here. When I saw @mx.domestic these prints in their shop I may have made a 3am purchase lol

I love these colors & prints sooo much and the bee 🐝 print straight had me in a chokehold lol. The Geometric prints tho 🔥I can’t wait to make a quilt with these. Can you imagine this selection with intricate #grafittiquilting technique 🤯 it’s going to be the first project out the chute after I take the class with @ @karleeporterdesign !
