Announcement: I have launched my new Etsy shop! Currently there is a print and a sticker available. We will have a wider variety of curiosities available soon!

I have launched this to try and bring in some extra money because I am severely struggling. I'm too severely Disabled to work, even part time, and I have extremely high monthly costs due to my disabilities and care needs.

Note: as with everything, I do this with significant support from my partners and carers, this is not done independently by any means.

After more than five years trapped in an ab*sive and inaccessible environment, Mari has finally escaped and moved into a safe home.

But getting out was only the first step.

Mari is severely ill with M.E., and the immense physical toll of escaping and relocating has left her desperately needing time to rest and recover.

A significant portion of the funds raised was required to get her to safety, and the fundraiser is still only halfway to its goal.

Mari urgently needs continued support so she can rest, recover from the extreme trauma of DV, receive care, remain safely housed, and access survival needs without being forced to rely on anyone harmful for her basic survival needs again.

I often say that autistic life doesn’t come with a handbook for surviving a non-autistic world. But mine came in the form of an Ellen Jones, who taught me everything she knew about navigating a world that was never designed for us and, more importantly, showed me that I would never have to navigate it alone. Like so many in our community, I owe her more than she will ever know.

N is a marginalised person living with very severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), after becoming ill in early childhood. They are bedbound and also live with multiple complex co-morbidities. N is simultaneously trying to escape domestic and gender-based violence while living in the SWANA region. For safety reasons, they cannot speak publicly about many aspects of their situation and are currently having to negotiate with their abuser resulting in repeated crashes and further deterioration in health.

Unlike many countries, there is no meaningful disability safety net in the form of carers or welfare payments available to support independent living, and N is completely reliant on paid caregivers to stay live. Financial support is urgently needed to help secure legal protection from their ab*ser, to pay multiple, longterm PAs, and other necessities required to escape the current situation. August 8th is Severe ME day. I have had ME since childhood, but I have been Severe for about 4 years. ME is a complex condition that comes in 4 severity levels (Mild, Moderate, Severe, Very Severe), with Severe and Very Severe being classified usually as having some element of being housebound or bedbound, although this doesn't need to be 100%.

For me, I am very regularly housebound, I can go weeks without leaving the house, and usually only leave for medical appointments and very occasionally am I able to do social things. When I'm at home I am lying in bed 99% of the time, except for very exceptional circumstances, I can't sit on the sofa, I can't sit in my chair. And I spend about 70% of that time in bed lying down, and can't tolerate sitting up for very long. Compared to a lot of other Severe people, I have it easy, but this disease has still ruined my life, and killed my friends.

3) Insomnia - being horribly fatigued, but unable to sleep
4) Immunocompromised - we believe my ME compounds with other things and has caused this
5) Post Exertional Malaise - over exertion causes an intense flu like hellish state often for weeks
6) Time Dilation (perceiving time as moving slower than it is)
7) Migraine attacks and low-level neuroinflammation
8) Difficulty tolerating being upright, sometimes at all, and usually for more than an hour
9) PEM and over-exertion can (and has) led to a permanent lowering of my baseline (twice)
10) Isolation - everything combined causes a LOT of isolation esp if friends don’t understand
