Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.

Never again.

Yes, sure — but what happens when the history you learn isn’t exactly factual, the so called “truth”?

History has different sides, yet the one you’re taught usually favors the narrative of the few. Voices get silenced. Everything that goes against that narrative simply vanishes.

I went to an all-girls Catholic school in Riobamba (Ecuador), where I learned about “El descubrimiento de América” — in big, shiny letters.
Y bueno… a carefully chosen rhetoric that, once again, benefited the few.

Columbus is not a hero but a symbol of land theft, mass killings — geno 0 cide (sounds familiar?) — forced labor, cultural erasure, and the destruction of languages, traditions, and sovereignty. Calling the Americas the “New World” was a political act, much like calling the Global South a “minority.”

Language matters!

So today, we honour Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

A reminder that now, more than ever, we must question — and truly trust — the sources where we get our information.

To our beautiful son, Sami.

Today you’re 2 months old. Two whole months of your light, your cries, your cuddles, your magic. ✨

It’s been a journey and a half to finally meet you. A journey I now remember with love and compassion. From the moment your dad and I decided to become parents, life asked us to visit some dark places, to heal, to let go, and to learn how to trust again. Grieving our angel babies was painful yet necessary — they left us with valuable lessons and prepared our hearts for the love we now pour into you.

We made big changes, we surrendered, and we danced gracefully (most of the time 😅) with what life had in store for us. I’ll forever be grateful to the beautiful souls who held us through this path — therapists, doctors, healers, friends, family. It truly takes a village!

The transformation of my mind, body and soul has been monumental. 🙏🏽

You came to us a few weeks early (not a quality your mother possesses 😅) and in XL size (you can thank your father for that). You arrived when you were ready.

Since then, you’ve been nothing short of a ray of sunshine in the midst of an insane world. Thankfully you’re surrounded by beautiful people who love you dearly. We don’t take that for granted. 💕

Thank you for choosing us as your family, for making me your mother and allow me to continue healing, and for keeping us on our toes already.

Also, apologies in advance if you have to spell your surname often. 🥲 Your family comes from different and beautiful countries — can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Happy 2 months, mi amorcito hermoso! 🐣✨💛

✨lebanon appreciation post✨

i hesitated to share this post, but the pride that the lebanese people have for their country is truly contagious. it’s impossible not to fall in love with this beautiful part of the world.

despite the challenges in the region, we were fortunate to find our own sense of peace — surrounded by breathtaking nature and always in the best company!

there’s something magical about lebanon and I wanted to celebrate it!
