A small, warm bowl an hour or two before bed is one of the oldest ways to wind down. This pumpkin red date congee is gently sweet and easy to digest, so your body can rest instead of working overtime.

Ingredients (2 small bowls)
1/3 cup rice
150 g kabocha or pumpkin, cubed
3 pitted red dates, sliced
4 cups water
1 small piece rock sugar (optional)
A small handful of goji berries
2 Relax + Sleep sachets (1 per bowl)

Steps:
Rinse the rice and bring it to a boil with the water and pumpkin. Add the red dates and rock sugar, then simmer for 30 to 35 minutes, stirring now and then, until thick and creamy. Mash some of the pumpkin in until golden. Take it off the heat, stir in Relax + Sleep and the goji, then ladle into bowls and enjoy warm.

Relax + Sleep is melatonin free and made to help you drift off and stay asleep, with poria, red date and GABA. Tap the link in bio to try it. taken in Los Angeles, California by @my_nooci

Feeling a little slower and drier lately? In TCM, your lungs and large intestines are partners. When autumn air dries out your skin and throat, digestion can feel it too.

That’s why this season’s picks are moistening ones: pear, sesame, figs, warm soups, and more water than you think you need. Mulberry is here because it nourishes Yin, the cooling, moistening side of your body.

Noo Gut includes hemp fruit seed, which brings a gentle, moistening quality to the formula.

Cold hands, a slow stomach, and a tongue that looks pale and wet. In TCM, these often show up together as Yang Deficiency.

Yang is your body’s warmth and get up and go. When it runs low, circulation and digestion can both feel sluggish. Swipe through for four acupressure points traditionally used to get things moving again, including the Four Gates 四關 (sì guān), a classic pairing for keeping qi, your body’s energy, flowing. Which point are you trying first? 👇

A note: LI4 is traditionally avoided during pregnancy. If you’re pregnant, skip it. taken in Los Angeles, California by @my_nooci

In TCM, autumn is the Lung’s season, and the Lung is the organ tied to grief. If this time of year always feels a little heavier, you’re not imagining it.

Our evening ritual this time of year: Relax + Sleep stirred into hot milk of your choice, phone in the other room, lights down by 10.

That first morning your throat feels a little scratchy and your feet just won’t warm up? That’s Hánlù (寒露), or Cold Dew, arriving on October 8.

In TCM, this is when autumn dryness turns from warm to cool and settles in a little deeper. Your throat, skin and digestion tend to notice it first, even if your city is still holding on to summer. A few simple ways to move with the season:

🍐 Cook your pears. Steamed pear with honey is the classic.
🧦 Keep your feet warm. As the old saying goes, 寒從腳起 (hán cóng jiǎo qǐ), cold enters from the feet.
🍲 Lean on moistening foods like lily bulb, snow fungus and lotus root.

Shā Shēn (coastal glehnia root) and Yù Zhú (fragrant solomonseal rhizome) are two classic autumn herbs traditionally used to nourish and moisten. You’ll find both in Noo Gut, for daily digestive support as the air turns dry.

Save this for the first chilly morning. taken in Los Angeles, California by @my_nooci

Iced drinks in October and wondering why your stomach feels off? 🧊

In TCM, a pale, puffy, slightly wet tongue often goes with Yang Deficiency (陽虛 yáng xū), when your body’s inner warmth runs low and digestion slows down. As the weather cools, it tends to get more noticeable.
Try this tomorrow: check your tongue in natural light before you eat, drink, or brush, since all three can change what you see.

Dry throat, flaky skin, lips that won’t stay soft? That’s autumn dryness.

In TCM, each season pairs with an organ system. Autumn belongs to the Lung (肺 fèi), which looks after your breath and skin. Dry air hits it first, so autumn is when TCM turns to foods that put moisture back. Most of them are white, the colour TCM links to this season.

Easiest place to start: steam half an Asian pear with a little rock sugar and eat it warm in the evening. Or simmer snow fungus (銀耳 yín ěr) into a sweet soup with red dates.

I opened my home TCM bubble tea bar!!! 🧋🍵🥥😆

Matcha/green tea in TCM is cooling, and your body doesn’t always want that all the time. So I swapped it for @my_nooci Energy & Immunity herbal mix, a modernized TCM supplement. It still has gyokuro green tea, now balanced with panax ginseng, eleuthero root, white mulberry leaf and turkey tail mushroom. 🌿🍄‍🟫

It feels like the same ritual, just a little warmer.

🧋Today’s menu · 秋日茶铺

💜芋泥抱抱 · Taro Hug
Nooci herbal green tea, homemade taro paste (taro, ube, purple potato), sago, lactose-free milk, a spoon of coconut cream

🍎苹安喜乐 · Apple of My Qi
Nooci herbal green tea shaken cold, TCM apple-jam(check my previous reel on TCM Apple jam), fresh apple

🥥椰气满满 · Coco Qi Jelly
Nooci herbal tea jelly, sago, coconut milk, apple jam

One tea, three ways. Which one would you order first?🥰
