Last week, you passed away in my arms. Holding you with every ounce of my being was the most beautiful, sacred way for us to say goodbye.

Thank you for trusting me to take care of you. It has been the absolute honor of my life to protect, advocate, and sacrifice to ensure you received the best possible care while aging gracefully to the beautiful age of 92 at home with me, surrounded by love.

You were my Granny, my EC, my Ma, my Confidant, my Protector, my Secret Keeper, and my Friend—you have given me a lifetime of memories and lessons that form the very blueprint of my soul. I only pray that I can carry myself with your grace and wisdom.

This picture was taken in Hawaii, the October before COVID. I remember you saying to me, "I am always safe with you, and I will go wherever you go—just promise to never leave me."

I never left your side. I promised my Mommy that I would take care of you, and I promised you that I would be okay. I will keep that promise. I will continue to live a life that makes you proud.

I know my Mommy and your brothers embraced you so tightly..

Rest well, until we see each other again.
