How do you depict the place you were born in its simplest way?

This is the prompt I gave to myself for #keralapiravi. Letter Ma for Malayalam (language of Keralites), depicting elephant trunk (state animal), coconut tree and vanchi (boat) - all four are my favorites in Kerala

Pigeons makes me laugh. Living in an urban setup, pigeons are a common sight to watch. The illustrations of Pigu are my observations of their different poses which are my favorites.

Earlier this year I had a very special experience to help out a pigeon with broken wings which made me know about the Pigeon hospital in Bangalore. The way it allowed me to care and nurture is close to my heart. So this is for the Pigu Pigeon who was lying on my terrace with broken wings and I hope it is flying well and living its life.

Which is your favourite pose? Pigu is waiting at the end to say bye. Don't miss it:)

Our pool of artists thoroughly enjoyed bringing your stories to life. Here is what our artist collaborator Malyasri Bhattacharya (@malyasri_bucerophile) had to say about her experience of breathing life into Anu Paul’s (@my_visualstory) story.

“The story is truly fascinating and beautiful to read. The House Crow has always been a bird of great curiosity to me, ever since my childhood. I still remember how it would visit my terrace every day, dropping fish bones into the water pots, cleaning them, and then eating them. Sometimes, a few fish bones would accidentally fall into the water pot, which my cat would happily eat. It was such a funny sight, yet it showed just how remarkably intelligent the crow was in its own way.”
