POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We asked you to share your Spark Birds stories and we regaled in your experiences. Thank you!

Our pool of artists thoroughly enjoyed bringing your stories to life. Here is what our artist collaborator Malyasri Bhattacharya (@malyasri_bucerophile) had to say about her experience of breathing life into Anu Paul’s (@my_visualstory) story.

“The story is truly fascinating and beautiful to read. The House Crow has always been a bird of great curiosity to me, ever since my childhood. I still remember how it would visit my terrace every day, dropping fish bones into the water pots, cleaning them, and then eating them. Sometimes, a few fish bones would accidentally fall into the water pot, which my cat would happily eat. It was such a funny sight, yet it showed just how remarkably intelligent the crow was in its own way.”

Some days like yesterday I find identical twins in a fruit basket of a family home: sisters from different parents. Homegrown passion fruit and guava.

At first glance, I was sure it was all passion fruit, the basket was brimming with two varieties pink & yellow. But then... a second look revealed the surprise: a ripe guava, masquerading as a yellow passion fruit if not for its tell-tale stem nod.

Nature’s games are always fun to play!

New Series Alert: The Inside Stories
Let’s open up fruits, pods, and memories — and see what’s inside.

We’ll explore what's within just like Ali in Sorraya Khan's novel 'Noor'. In the novel, Ali's inside scape is described as a wall of drawers, stacked sealed and nailed to the wall of his memory. Until during the course of the story, he dares to open them, one by one, and begins to heal! Noor is one magical being set in the backdrop of war.

This new series is about those drawers. The inside stories of people. The inside stories of trees. Of fruits. Of pods.

At #treesofcochin & @urbioindia we believe 'What’s inside matters'

I'm not someone who sketches every day or even every week. this banana plant was a spontaneous exercise I did during a workshop I was leading.

The idea? To show how we can tap into what’s around us, everyday objects, fleeting ideas, even a simple plant and turn them into visual stories on the spot.

You don’t need fancy tools or perfect conditions to create. Just start with what you have. And create what you want to communicate

Day 3 & 4 : Using words and using visual stories to communicate
