Preparatory study no.3 for 'Ceasefire' - still a work in progress but I've brought in the Palestinian sunbird taking flight against a fire filled sky as a symbol of hope and defiance. 'Ceasefire' is my four-panel oil painting responding to the unending atrocities in Gaza. It is a reimagining of Picasso's 'Guernica' across four seven foot panels. Follow along if you'd like to see how 'Ceasefire' develops. 🔸 #figurativepainting #contemporaryoilpainting #artactivism #artforpalestine #sunbird taken in Pembrokeshire by @myannaburing

Another preparatory study for 'Ceasefire' - working out how to describe bombed-out buildings and horizons of rubble without being too literal. Trying to find the colours and atmosphere that will inform the backdrop of the final panels. 'Ceasefire' is my large-scale four-panel painting reimagining Picasso's 'Guernica', in response to the genocide in Gaza and the cruelty continuing despite the ceasefire agreement. This series of studies is how I am planning and problem-solving before I take everything to the panels. So more studies to follow as I continue to work towards 'Ceasefire'. 🔸 #figurativepainting #paintingprocess #politicalart #artactivism #contemporaryoilpainting taken in Pembrokeshire by @myannaburing

I've been quietly busy in my studio working on the composition for 'Ceasefire' and it's starting to take shape. Using a mixture of footage and the beautiful images from Ali Jadallah - @alijadallah66, a photojournalist who's kindly letting me use his photographs for reference, I've been piecing together the moments I want to hold in the painting. 'Ceasefire' is a giant oil painting across four 7ft panels, reimagining Picasso's 'Guernica' in response to the genocide in Gaza and unrelenting violence despite the ceasefire agreement. There's a Crowdfunder link in my bio to learn more about the project. We've surpassed the target to cover materials and now everything raised above the target goes straight to All Our Relations and the Gaza Formula Fund, supporting families across Gaza. @_allourrelations  @gazaformulafund People have also been asking how they can support my time to make 'Ceasefire', so there is now also a link to donate for those who want to.  If you'd like to speak to me at all about the project then feel free to DM me or my email is on my profile.  🔸 #artforgaza #artforpalestine #artactivism #figurativepainter #contemporaryoilpainting taken in Pembrokeshire by @myannaburing

We started helping Ibrahim a year ago and he’s transformed from a very sick, often in hospital baby with allergies and malnutrition to a happy, healthy toddler who is robust and strong. We can only support babies like Ibrahim with your help, please click on the link in our bio to donate. We appreciate your help so so much. #smallstepsproject #gazaformulafund #formulamilk #nappiesinbulk #diapers by @myannaburing

I was able to send £500 to direct aid this week because of the amazing support for the 'Ceasefire' Crowdfunder and 'That Feeling' Prize Draw. The £500 was split between All Our Relations and the Gaza Formula Fund and I hope is just the start of what this project can raise for direct aid. @_allourrelations @gazaformulafund 'Ceasefire' is my 5m x 2m oil painting reimagining Picasso's 'Guernica', made in response to the genocide in Gaza. The painting is in progress in my studio in Pembrokeshire, Wales. So follow along if you'd like to see this giant painting materialise. 'That Feeling' Prize Draw is a chance to win my original oil painting, whilst also supporting 'Ceasefire' and direct aid. The draw is live till 11th August and it's £5 to enter, with discounts for multiple tickets. 🔗 Link in my bio to enter We've already surpassed our Crowdfunder and Prize Draw target, so every penny raised now goes straight to @_allourrelations and @gazaformulafund. Both providing crucial life saving support in Gaza. Big thank you also to @crowdfunderuk for amplifying and platforming this project. If you'd like to speak to me about the project - sponsorship, press or exhibiting the work, then feel free to DM me or my email is on my profile. 🔸 #artfundraiser #artforgaza #artforpalestine #artactivism #contemporaryoilpainting taken in Pembrokeshire by @myannaburing

Mothers and babies are being forced to live in hugely difficult circumstances, nothing is getting better. Gaza Formula Fund use 100% of our public donations to provide formula milk, nappies and other vital aid for babies and mothers/fathers who are living in this hell. Tents like ovens, infested with rats and weasels, sewage and no infrastructure. Please help us to continue providing if you can. #smallstepsproject #gazaformulafund #nappies #formula #cleanwater by @myannaburing

We're £20 away from hitting the first Prize Draw target for 'Ceasefire', my large-scale painted response to the genocide in Gaza, across four 7ft panels. The Prize Draw' is a chance to win my painting 'That Feeling'. The winner takes home the original oil painting, 2nd prize gets a mounted A3 giclée print and 3rd prize gets an A4 giclée print. Every penny raised past target goes straight to All Our Relations and the Gaza Formula Fund, providing direct aid to Gaza right now. @_allourrelations @gazaformulafund 🔗 Link in my bio to enter. 🔸 #artfundraiser #artforgaza #artforpalestine #artactivism #contemporaryoilpainting taken in Pembrokeshire by @myannaburing
