Last summer, I had the pleasure of photographing Daiana and Matteo’s extraordinary home, perched high above Lugano in the Swiss canton of Ticino.
Surrounded by spectacular views over Lake Lugano, the house brings together raw concrete, natural stone, vintage furniture and carefully collected objects, creating a home that feels both powerful and deeply personal.
Daiana, founder of @frida_thebrand , has infused every space with her understated aesthetic and love for timeless design.

I’m very happy to be featured in the current April issue of Annabelle.

The article “How I Live” offers a personal insight into my home – a 1970s bungalow inspired by Californian mid-century architecture, which I discovered around three and a half years ago. As an art director for a Swiss furniture company, I’m driven by the balance between attention to detail and the bigger picture – an approach that is also reflected in my home.

The focus lies on a sensitive evolution of the existing architecture, a warm color concept with brick, terracotta, and subtle accents, as well as a mix of vintage design, personal finds, and self-made ceramics. What matters most to me is allowing spaces to evolve over time rather than over-planning
them from the start – with a clear style and independent of trends.

The new issue of @schweizer_landliebe is now on newsstands.
The floral cover was created with @remyjaggi, whose vision constantly pushes boundaries. It was shot at the home of talented lampshade designer Laurence Zahner @vdevcreation thanks for letting us use your amazing house !

The floral craft, featured in the magazine, was imagined by stylist @petrasalvisberg, always a pleasure to work together 💚

And finally, the home story takes us to the Grisons, near S-chanf, to @magdalenaswl’s house. A 500-year-old home, gently renovated, respectfully preserved, and largely left in its original state. A place with soul. A book dedicated to Magdalena’s house is on the way, featuring many of my photographs.

Exactly the kind of stories I love tellingl !

In this almost monastic whiteness, a sense of calm seems to be part of the architecture itself.

The simplicity of the space reveals the volumes conceived and designed by Noémie, while giving her endlessly curious and creative mind room to wander.

And for someone like me, who photographs so many carefully composed interiors, there is something wonderfully refreshing about such simplicity.

The same sensibility extends to the details: the beautiful bed linen by Oona home, and a handful of carefully chosen vintage pieces from Møbble.

Nothing feels overdone or overly styled.

A touch of the 80s and a piece of Swiss design history.

At home with Susanne and Willi Glaeser, founder of WOGG and one of the figures who shaped Swiss design.

Very happy to see this story published in the new issue of Das Ideale Heim.

This house brings together contemporary architecture by Burkard Meyer Architekten with an extraordinary collection of design : including pieces by
Trix & Robert Haussmann, Baltensweile, de Sede and, of course, WOGG.

What I loved most: the unmistakable 80s spirit running through the house, bold, sophisticated and still incredibly relevant today.

7:15 AM — chasing the warm morning glow with the amazing interior photographer Catherine Gailloud @mydaywith for an upcoming magazine editorial.

There is a quiet beauty in how available daylight moves across honest materials and raw wood. The living area found its missing piece with this rug from @maanastudios — a spontaneous addition that grounds the space effortlessly.

A home like a cabinet of curiosities, nestled in the hills of Ticino.

Before being converted into a loft-style apartment, the space served as the studio of famous conductor Hermann Scherchen.

Now home to artist Manuela Bieri and her family. Inside every object tells a story. Artworks, found pieces, travel memories… everything coexists freely, never fixed, never staged. This is a place where art is simply lived with.

Manuela’s art moves between visual communication, textile work and intuitive exploration, balancing structure and instinct, and drawing deeply from nature, memory and lived experience.

I had the chance to photograph this light-filled home, conceived as an open, evolving space, a reflection of the way she creates and lives.

At 1,350 meters above Morissen, a Zurich couple built a wooden refuge that settles into the slope as if it had always belonged there.
Designed by austrian architects Berktold-Weber, this fully prefabricated Austrian cabin (assembled in just five days, without a single nail or screw) reinvents the idea of the contemporary hideaway.
Larch on the outside, white fir on the inside: clean lines, mastered light, and spaces that breathe.
Everything leads up to the living area at the very top, crowned with a cathedral ceiling and flanked by terraces perfectly oriented to frame every shift in the landscape.
A locally crafted kitchen in granite and stainless steel, graphic lighting touches, and pared-down bedrooms where calm pours in through the windows… A place carved for serenity : raw, bright, timeless.

Tucked away at 1600 meters in Fuldera, GR, Ralph Steiner, founder of Manum and Raïna, and his wife Manuela built a wooden hideaway where silence reigns and the night sky still sparkles without light pollution.
Think larch forests, soft textures, earthy tones, and a home shaped by local roots and a love for pared-back design.
A compact, modern cabin crafted with raw materials, opened wide to nature, and furnished almost entirely with pieces made by Ralph himself. Here, architecture meets craftsmanship, and winter wraps everything in white serenity.
A quiet haven, perfectly made for slowing down, breathing deeper… and watching the stars do their thing.

Remember the ‚behind the scenes‘ takes of a photo shoot taking place in our home about two years ago?

Catherine aka @mydaywith was a pleasure to have around and chat with, while she was capturing our old farmhouse and my artworks ‚in their natural habitat‘.

Little did I know, that some magazines like @schweizer_landliebe (Swiss countryliving) and Côté Nature (its French speaking equivalent) plan two years ahead, meaning that actual publication involved a bit of a wait. 🤪

Now that I finally hold the magazines in my hands, it feels a little unreal, to actually see our home story on its pages.

An old farmhouse that we renovated with care, preserving original features as much as we possibly could. It unites flea market finds and discarded (by the former owners of the house) pieces of furniture (that we restored and painted to give them a new life), inherited family treasures, many a souvenir brought home from travels and an ever changing array of my artworks. The kind of stuff that doesn’t need to be loud, but whispers stories.

It’s a place that celebrates quirks, patina and seasons. Our home.
