A lil’ pumpkin spice for my makeup! 🍂

My eyes are upturned, almond shaped, and semi hooded and I am always unsure what to do with them. For the longest time I’ve just curled my lashes and called it a day, since many other things always felt off.

BUT, lately I’ve been liking a reverse wing that starts from the bottom lash line, as opposed to the top. I feel as if it softens the upturned element, whereas a classic top lash line wing lifts the outer corner of the eye even more.

Still need to work on my technique, but I certainly think onto something! Also, any recs for an ultra precise liquid lined, cause I think the KVD is discontinued!?

A few things about my Corduroy Maxi Skirt! 🤎

This is my first sewing project after about 8 years, from pattern drafting to sewing—and what a learning curve has it been! Design isn’t just what you see, it’s how something interacts once it’s lived in.

And this is why it’s so important to test drive a prototype before committing to a final design!

Is this skirt something you would wear? Let me know in the poll! ✨ by @myette__

My signature jersey hijab tutorial! ✨

I used to be a woven modal girl, but after seeing @sailingnas in jersey about four years back, I quickly converted and now profess to be a die hard jersey girl.

I wear this style everyday day. It has gotten me *through life* at this point, from summer to winter and casual to occasion—it never fails!

Let me know what is your go-to hijab material!

Hijabs kindly gifted by @abayabuth. I’m wearing “smoked chestnut” and also holding “cafe au lait” and “chai latte” at the start!

We don’t need to reinvent the wheel in order to create modest silhouettes.✨

Countless cultures across the world offer their own rich interpretations of modesty: the abaya in the Arab Gulf, the salwaar kameez in South Asia, the baju kurung in Malaysia, the ao dai in Vietnam to name a few—please add any more to the comments!

In our search for creative inspiration, we don’t need to default to Western paradigms, especially for silhouettes, which define the overall modesty of an outfit.

By shifting our perspective beyond Western aesthetics, we open the door to a much broader, more diverse world of sartorial history.

October recap. 🍁

My lil’ handsome lad getting his dirty paws on anything new that enters the house! 🐾

My first skirt! 🥹 So chuffed I persevered through every stage of making it. So many mistakes and things I could have done better—but it’s the only way to learn and develop a craft!

So excited to see more variety in the halal food scene of NCL! If you’re local and haven’t tried @thisisbreadwin yet, defo give them a go!

The hot honey chicken and smashed philly were my faves! 👌🏼

A successful little shopping trip in York, ticking off items from my A/W wishlist! ✅

The damage—or goods, however you wanna see it! 💸

Enjoyed quite a few riverside walks! Thank you @jannaqureshi for taking me along with you! I had forgotten how much I love the quayside! 🫶🏼

My October bouquet—but how do I tell my hubby that he can’t be getting me lilies in case he kills my cat? ☠️ Or could it be… a plot!?

PSA Many flowers are fatally poisonous to kitties so make sure you check what you buy for your cat parent friends and family! 🥀

10K! 🎉 Such an amazing milestone after almost 5 years on here!

Thank you everyone for following and a special thank you to those who have been here for a while and shown me the sweetest support! I hope I can bring even the slightest bit of value! 🤎

At times, she shape shifts into Bob The Builder… 👷

Progress in the living room! So many delays, so much decision fatigue, but we are getting closer! InshaAllah within maybe *eight* months we’ll be able to move back into here! 😅

The prettiest fajr sky I captured in October! 🌅 by @myette__

A lil’ tmi moment… 🫣

Just a reminder that we all struggle in different areas, place importance in the wrong places, carry insecurities and flaws, are placed on a different timeline in our qadr… So have a little bit more compassion for yourself! 🫶🏼

Let’s talk money… 💸

This is not to say that there are not rogue players in the market that charge extortionate prices for clothing that isn’t even worth it—or worse made of straight up plastic!

But expecting prices comparable to big multinational companies is a lil’ delulu. 🫢 Someone had to say it!

Comment what you think are reasonable price brackets for different clothing categories such as dresses, bottom, blouses, tees and outerwear!

Early autumn outfits I’ve worn as a dark autumn! 🍂

Clearly this brown obsession is getting out of hand, but it has also served in creating a strong wardrobe foundation from which I can now expand by adding more exciting pieces!

(A lot of items are old, but any available pieces can be found on my LTK in my bio!)

Design considerations I wish modest wear brands would take on board! ✨
