Day 30; Indoor Growing
@mymonthontheplot

Just a little view of the state of play indoors at the end of January. It’s going to get a bit cramped inside for the next 8 weeks as this is only the beginning ✨💖

I’ve been thinking hard about perennial vegetables and so invested in some Leeks for the plot, just need a semi dry day and no snow forecast now to plant them.
Greatful to @edulis.nursery who supply them 👌🏻☺️

Day 25; Sky 🌌

Day 20; Blue
@mymonthontheplot

I could have posted about flowers, mood, sky, but this little blue mushroom tray works just as hard as I throughout the seasons. So much so he’s multiplying.

I’ve even used him to sieve compost when I forgot my actual compost sieve. So functional and versatile. Yes, I know he’s plastic but isn’t it much better to get as much use out of something that already exists.

Lay cardboard in him and add growing medium and he doubles up as a planter too 💙

My Trusty old Blue and his many uses 💙

Day 18; Hat(s)

Turns out I have and wear many hats. I also knit them.
Hats hide a multitude of bad hair days 🤣🤣🤣

To show a hat you’ve gotta show your face I suppose 🫣

Day 15 (skipped a few) Hope. Hellebores and snow drops poking through, showing the promise of things to come. I moved quite a few hellebores yesterday (not this one), they are not supposed to like being moved but hopefully they’ll establish in their new homes. @mymonthontheplot

Day 4; Eating now (catch up)

One Crown Prince can go a long way.

Soup;
1 home grown Squash chopped 👑
3 Cloves home grown garlic 🧄
1 home grown Onion Chopped 🧅
1kg Cherry tomatoes (out of season) 🍅(left whole)

Roast for 35 minutes ⏲️
Add;

1 Chilli 🌶️
Thumb size piece of Ginger 🫚
1.5 Litres of vegetable stock,
to a blender with roasted veg and blitz

Et voila..

use left overs to make a Veg Lasagne adding Feta cheese and Pine nuts into the “soup” (I also added Sunflower hearts and pumpkin seeds).

Two meals in one squash 🤤

Day 12 @mymonthontheplot and the prompt is ‘brewstop’ I don’t usually put my face on the @mymonthontheplot page but I’m here to remind you all to get out there and take time to sip a brew this week. It’s cold, and it might be soggy, but you might just enjoy it anyway! Sometimes it’s easy to ignore our outside spaces during the winter. Don’t! Grab a brew and head outside!

Day 8; Seed
@mymonthontheplot

Seeds teach you many things particularly patience and hope.
They force you to look to the future and not dwell in the past. As Audrey Hepburn once said “to plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”.

I think you can take that a step forward “to sow a seed is to believe in tomorrow” 🤞🏼✨🤩

NB; I’m only wearing gloves as the soil and air was freezing, normal I’m as happy as a pig 🐷 in muck but at -5 you do what you have to do 😮‍💨
