3 weeks after over-seeding with the @barenbruguk Perfectionist seed, it was finally time to do the first cut. I’d also got my lawn mower serviced for the first time in 7 years, done by a local small business for £64!! How good is that!

Cutting with a super sharp blade, on the highest setting is vital for the first 3 cuts, then I’ll start to lower it down.

What do we think? Looking good at the end?

Turns out Father’s Day was timed quite nicely with the lawn renovation update. If only it had been intentional and not a complete fluke! 😂

There was so much growth that the blanket was bulging, so time to get under the sheets and let’s see what we’re working with after exactly 14 days since scarifying and overseeding.

I don’t know why I do this to myself, but I decided the lawn I laid last year wasn’t good enough due to a few small bare patches and a few weed grasses growing in it, so I’ve embarked on a lawn reno 🙈🙈

This has been my knee and back breaking project for the last few weeks. We laid our patio during Covid and after a solid 5 and a bit years the sand/cement mix grout had started to fail in places, so it was time to dig it all out and replace it. Morning, I was so excited yesterday to spot Pear & Apple blossom buds on my trees. With a few more days of sunshine it will soon bring the blossom out.

The arrival of Spring is nearly upon us, 12 days to go. With all the buds on my fruit trees and canes are starting to appear now in my fruit garden.Also the Rhubarb is looking good as well and hopefully a few stalks will be ready soon 😋

The best thing about being a DIY renovator as well as a gardener, is I always have loads of useful shite to repurpose with - including 6 year old kitchen tiles being used here in the bottom of a planter 😂😂

There’s a certain kind of magic in looking up from the soil and seeing these two circling. ☁️

This would have been perfect for Day 27 of #mymonthontheplot and the ‘feathers’ category.

They’ve been patrolling the skies above the garden for a few weeks now—a lovely, silent reminder to pause and enjoy the view.
