📣 Well it’s about 👏🏽 that 👏🏽 time 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 🎉 !!! New music video dropping Nov. 29th!!

“Easy” is easily (HA) one of my favorite songs I ever penned. It’s a song about taking complete accountability in life, love and the pursuit of adulthood. If you’ve ever worked with me (shout out to Warren Amerman , @tonyhaynesbaby) you know that I’ve been kicking it around for a long time. Ultimately it was produced by @timsonnefeld — a magic maker with all things sound and one of my very favorite humans.

🎥The video was shot and directed by my steadfast partner in visuals @sandramccurdy @valleyvillagephotography

🎨With all Art-directing assistance by @qtpie001

👑 The video features some serious kings in it as well! @jessameberry @heirmaxjordan @jdg357 @realwowitsmateo @phil_i_am11 (thank you all for coming through to breakup with me on camera 😂😂)

✍🏽 And finally a massive thank you to @busk802 for the video editing. This is a perfect, moody expression of one of the darker corners of my heart and it’s all I wanted it to be.

Video drops November 29! Mark your calendars and start planning that watch party! 💜

A young widow, a free spirit, and a woman who knows a thing or two about making the most of an inconvenient situation. Especially when there's a body involved.

In 1955, Shirley MacLaine made her film debut as Jennifer in Hitchcock’s The Trouble with Harry.

On October 23, Vermont’s own Myra Flynn steps into the role for our one-night-only, largely unrehearsed live screenplay reading.

Same words. New voice. Seventy-one years later.

📍 Latchis Theatre, Brattleboro
🎭 Friday, October 23 | 7 PM

We are thrilled to announce that MYRA FLYNN is coming to The Phoenix and your tix will help us cover our lost income and ongoing legal fees from our bad actor landlord Myers Mermel. @wdev, the station Mermel now owns and our next door neighbor on Stowe Street, received a staff email from Mermel denying our claims.

Myra reached out to us because she heard about our landlord’s ongoing attempt to push us out of our space (which we pay on time and in full rent for) by blocking us from renting our currently open and empty studio upstairs (despite having a tenant ready to move in). She is playing this show as a benefit so tell your friends and let’s pack it out for a night of sensual and soulful storytelling. This date will be a last minute addition to her fall tour and we couldn’t be more thrilled to host. Thank you @myraflynn for loving and supporting our thriving arts space here in the center of Waterbury Village, Vermont.

MYRA FLYNN
Sunday, October 18th
Limited seating available so get your tickets early before it sells out. Tix will go on sale starting tomorrow at noon through Seven Days tickets and myraflynn.com. Look for the link in our bio and at thephoenixvt.com.

MYRA FLYNN’s latest album, Shadow Work, was released in the summer of 2023. Margaret Grayson of 7days describes Shadow Work as “... five songs deeply concerned with relationships of all kinds. Flynn, who splits her time between Vermont and Los Angeles, sings of mothers and daughters, romantic relationships gone wrong, and the people who get us through the hardest times.

Currently, Myra Flynn lives a bi-costal life, still holding onto her roots in Vermont part of her year while also working and living in Los Angeles under the guidance of Swift Street Management Team. She has created a jewelry line made from recycled piano parts and recently partnered with Vermont Vineyard, Shelburne Vineyard to create a namesake wine: FLYNN. She has toured the United States countless times as well as: Wales, London, Ireland and most frequently, Australia. Her motto regarding next steps and fame tends to be: “If you’re doing it, you’ve already made it.” ❤️ taken in Waterbury Village Historic District by @myraflynn

Every morning, @myraflynn — host of Homegoings with Myra Flynn — finds herself in a standoff with her daughter over her hair. Recently, to understand why these hair sessions are so fraught, Myra started recording them.

Hear their conversations, and Myra's conversation with her own mom, in our episode "Intergenerational Space Travel." Link in bio.

Ps. @sypbranded made this dope shirt dress I’m wearing and on the front is a beautiful portrait she painted of my face! You too can wear my face. She also does T-shirts, hoodies and tote bags! They will be at my shows. Come support two dope women at once!

PSs. @sandramccurdy at @valleyvillagephotography took these photos. I love them. We crawled up on the sink in her amazing retro pink bathroom and found some other insanely interesting locations that involved eggs and saunas (more to come). All this to say, Sandra has rocked with me for a long long time taking photos and video and I’m just so grateful to have her in my corner. I recommend her to all y’all who need the things! by @myraflynn

🚨 GETTING CLOSER! — OCT 1! 🚨

Kam Franklin, the electrifying frontwoman of The Suffers, brings her genre-bending mix of soul, blues, gospel, funk, Americana, and hip-hop to the stage — because why pick a lane when you can own them all. She’s graced stages and studios alongside Chaka Khan, Jon Batiste, Questlove, and the Houston Symphony, and off stage, she’s a powerful voice for Black, queer, femme, and non-binary artists redefining the industry. Her solo debut, Land of the Neon Sun, is roots music that doesn’t ask permission.

Opening the night: Myra Flynn — half Irish, half African American, all edge and warmth. Her indie-soul sound sits right between Ani DiFranco’s bite and Jill Scott’s glow, and it won’t let you sit still.

I have some really, really exciting news.

I made a piece for This American Life. (@thisamerlife 💜)

It’s about intergenerational space travel, but really, it’s about the women in my family.

There’s something pretty beautiful about getting to make a piece for a show that has influenced me for so long — and having that piece come from looking inward rather than outward. Instead of my usual — some enormous story happening somewhere else. This was just … Just me getting closer to my own family and listening more deeply.

To my peeps: If you’re in California, This American Life airs Sundays at 11 a.m. on KCRW 89.9 (@kcrw ). In Vermont, it airs Sundays at 3 p.m. on Vermont Public (@vermontpublic ) . And, of course, you can find it wherever you get your podcasts. (And if you’re not in either of those places … hit me up I can find the details for you!)

I got to work with some of my favorite people on this one: Emmanuel Dzotsi, (@newsmanual_ ) an incredible producer; Emanuele Berry, the Executive Editor of This American Life, who has fiercely believed in my work; and b.a. Parker, whose work on Code Switch (@nprcodeswitch ) I’ve admired for years, who gave this piece such a beautiful edit.

I’m really proud of this one.

And if you’ve been meaning to spend some time with Homegoings with Myra Flynn, now feels like a good time. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts, follow along at @homegoingswithmyraflynn, and drop me a note. I’d genuinely love to know what you think of the ep!

Life is weirdly awesome lately. I’m gonna trust it a lil’ 🥹 by @myraflynn

🏆 We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming… 🏆

We’ve been busy over here at Homegoings with Myra Flynn HQ making another massive episode about a certain pop star (whew! Lawwwd help us all with this next one) — but we had to interrupt our usual drop schedule to announce this:

WE WON A NATIONAL EDWARD R. MURROW AWARD. 🥹🏆

The 2026 National Edward R. Murrow Award was awarded to Vermont Public in the Small Market Television — Podcast category for our episode:

“Cailin Marcel Manson Ain’t Your Average Maestro.”

And honestly, what an episode to receive it for.

@cmanson82 is a conductor, baritone opera singer and longtime vocal studies teacher who has performed on some of the world’s biggest stages. We sat down to talk about what it means to command a space long dominated by white men — and what it takes to walk into that space fully, unapologetically yourself.

It’s the kind of conversation that sticks to your bones! And we’re incredibly proud that it’s now been recognized with a national Murrow.

This episode and Homegoings was originally produced by @vermontpublic.

COMING UP 10/1: Kam Franklin — the powerhouse frontwoman of The Suffers — moves through soul, blues, gospel, funk, Americana, and hip-hop like they were always meant to share a room. She’s shared stages and studios with Chaka Khan, Jon Batiste, Questlove, and the Houston Symphony, and off stage she’s a fierce advocate for Black, queer, femme, and non-binary artists shaping the industry’s future. Her solo debut, Land of the Neon Sun, is roots music with nothing to prove and everything to say.

Joining her: Myra Flynn, whose career embraces dichotomy — half Irish, half African American, her indie-soul songs land somewhere between Ani DiFranco’s bite and Jill Scott’s warmth, never letting you get too comfortable.
