Blitz tithe Butt Week 2022
12 - 18 September

Challange from @rubbishwalks to collect 2022 cigarette ends in the week or every day of the week..

I managed to get out for a butt hunt twice and collected 2500 butts.

Movie clip from day 1 didn't hit the right frame format 🤷‍♀️ but I'm sure you get the idea 😉

I will keep running every single day and I certainly will keep picking at least one piece of litter every time I run, but post about every single run is not sustainable and increases my carbon footprint😜, so I will try to share less but with more content, hopefully, from now on....which might be a difficult task as to me every single run is a mini adventure, mini exploration and an occasion to relax and reflect on the day....and I like to share little discoveries and seemingly insignificant little things of daily life we tend to take for granted....let's see how this goes 😊

RSD #2030 26.23 mi 🦮🏃‍♀️

On #SummerSolstice2025 I headed the opposite direction than the previous 4 years, to another iconic lighthouse! (It only took me 20 years to get there 😉) The most North-Westerly point on the British mainland.
It was always calling me, once I got myself into running, I discovered there is a Marathon race to it, but by the time I was ready to run such distance the race was no more 🙁
The multiday Ultra race option is absolutely out of my reach, so self-supporting option it was. Well I was supported by my new wee running buddy, it was her inaugural marathon and she did absolutely marvellous!
The route was undulating through heatherfids, with occasional wild life.. Humans were never too far as there was a wee bus taking tourists to the lighthouse and back, stopping at the Kearvaig Bay which I had to skip due to the time restrictions..
The lighthouse itself sits on top of very very high cliffs and has a huge fog horn and a wee café @ozonecafe
We rehydrated ourselves, took a few pictures and headed back to catch the wee ferry back to Durness..
It was one of those runs I will remember forever 🌞

And then we got cut off by the high tide. Time to rest, feast, swim to the lighthouse, wonder about, and beachclean for a bit.
Gathered all we had in the large ton bags and headed back to the civilisation. This spot stole a big bit of my heart, I won't lie.🥹 Cherishing the #memories.

Day 2 - #Litterpicking on the way to the iconic lighthouse. It took four visits to finally go to see the precious spot. It absolutely didn't disappoint.. 🩵🤍💙💚❤️‍🔥

RSD #1976 The Devil o' the Highlands Footrace 2025 - 42ish miles

My mind wasn't in it, in fact, I felt oddly numb, undertrained, and full of doubt.. The first 10 miles went past on autopilot, then the pain set in, and I suddenly fell like the game was ON! 🤪
Despite the #headspace, I really enjoyed the scenery, slowly got into the groove, and the miles were ticking off themselves... By the time we reached the Devil"s staircase (zoom in 📸7/15), the competitive mode set in, I climbed that hill with a fire in my heart and was determined to finish the business.
At some point, I even wondered if I could make it under 10 hours ,but both of my watches died, and I had no clue how far I still had to go... Someone said last 5k, but that turned out to be more like 5 miles.....nevertheless, I finished with a spring in my step and joy in my heart 🤗

RSD #2332 20.89mi 🏃‍♀️

Cateran Trail Ultra recce - went well ish, I took more pictures and videos than run miles 🤷‍♀️ I cannot be trusted on my own out there in the wild 😅 'Twas an awesome adventure tho 🥳 The race will be a challenge, for sure 😬 Pray for me in 3 weeks 🤞😃🤞

Since I stay stones trow away from the beach, it would be rude not to pick up at least a piece every visit...🤭 well, you know me, one piece is never enough, especially when there was a polystyrenegedon going on....and not just that, we also had a lot of single use plastic bags' shreds floating everywhere... We also get sewage releases into the sea, so wet wipes (3/20) and sanitary pads are not a rare find 🤢#onlypeeandpoointheloo #breadbagchallenge #poobagchallenge #plasticfishing #tryharder by @myshashisha

The cliffs are full of caves and coves and cavities....and some of them are (were) full of litter. Nature's sorting centre at its best - only polystyrene and plastic bottles found in this one.
