I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected as a 2025 Ellies Award recipient for my project Miami Street Press: Printing on the Move.✨

This opportunity allows me to continue using art and printmaking as a way to do more than just create—it’s a way to meet people where they are, share stories, and build something meaningful together.
The Ellies, presented by Oolite Arts, uplift the work of Miami-Dade artists, educators, and cultural changemakers. This year, in celebration of Oolite’s 40th anniversary, an additional $100,000 will be awarded—bringing the total Ellies support since 2018 to an incredible $3.6 million.
Join us on April 16 at ICA Miami to celebrate the vision, dedication, and impact of the 2025 Ellies Awardees. Let’s honor art that connects, inspires, and transforms. 💥

Save the date! ❤️ November 6

Join us from 6:30 to 10 PM for Bakehouse Homecoming, an evening celebrating art, creativity, and the people who make Bakehouse Art Complex such a vibrant community.

For artists, having a space to create is about so much more than four walls. It’s about having the freedom to explore new ideas, take risks, learn from one another, and build meaningful connections. Thanks to DVCAI too! 😜

Bakehouse provides that kind of environment, where artists can grow individually while being part of something larger.

On November 6, we come together to celebrate this creative home and help ensure it continues to thrive. Your support makes a real difference in keeping studios accessible and artistic possibilities alive.

🎟️ Join the celebration! Visit @bakehouseartcomplex for tickets and event details.

Let’s celebrate the art, the artists, and the community that brings it all together. ❤️ taken in Miami, Florida by @nadayart

A glimpse of what’s taking shape in the studio…

Join me tonight for Open Studios at @bakehouseartcomplex 6–9 PM. I’ll be sharing new work in progress, including an installation that is growing out of Miami Street Press and Under Pressure—bringing collected voices, printmaking, and ideas of pressure, resilience, and collective experience into the space.

Come by, spend some time with the work, and say hello.

It’s been one month since I’ve had a workspace at the @bakehouseartcomplex , and I’m already feeling the value of being part of this creative community. It’s been very productive. I’ve had a few studio visits that I’ve really appreciated—opportunities to share works in progress and this new series, talk through my process, and receive meaningful feedback outside the formal setting of an exhibition. I’m especially grateful for the connections and conversations with other artists here.

Swing by my studio on Tuesday, September 8, from 6–9 PM for Open Studios! Big thank you to @dvcai for sponsoring my work space. #printmaking #grabado #takashpress #contemporaryart #monotypeprint taken in Miami, Florida by @nadayart

What’s in a name?
When my parents brought me here, I was eight years old. I felt as though I had been parachuted from the sky into a completely new world, leaving behind everything I knew.
And somewhere in that landing, I left behind my name.

Naday.

That was the name my family, my friends, my neighbors—the people who knew and loved me—called me.

I arrived in a place where no one seemed able to pronounce Naday, and so I became Rosa.

It has taken me a long time to find my way back to Naday—to embrace that part of myself again. Nani, as my family and closest friends still know me today.

Names carry memory. They carry family, place, belonging, and pieces of who we were before the world began telling us who we should be.

Today, I’m grateful for spaces that allow me to keep discovering—and reclaiming—my genuine self.

Thank you, @bakehouseartcomplex , @dvcai , @christine_cortes, and Óscar for making space for this ongoing process. #printmaking #contemporaryartist #grabado #artistacubana by @nadayart

First day in the studio.

Feeling incredibly grateful to begin this three-month chapter at @bakehouseartcomplex . Having a dedicated workspace to think, experiment, and make is a gift, and I’m excited to use this time to explore installation as an extension of my printmaking practice.

Over the next few months, I’ll be pushing beyond the printed page—testing how relief prints, chine collé, suspended forms, and spatial relationships can create immersive experiences rooted in the language of printmaking.

My deepest thanks to @dvcai for making this opportunity possible through their generous support. Your belief in artists and their work creates the space for new ideas to grow. Love being in community with other creatives @extravirginpress @sharedprintfac @ingridschindall and Carol Todaro and studio mate @mateo.seza

Looking forward to seeing where this work leads. #printmaking #reliefprinting #grabado #monoprintseries #letterpressprinting taken in Miami, Florida by @nadayart

For the past few weeks, I've been exploring a new direction in my Print/Making after an inspiring month of reading, looking, and reflecting with the @bakehouseartcomplex Book Club.

I've begun incorporating recycled paper as both a material and a conceptual gesture. Under Pressure is a new series of one-of-a-kind mixed-media relief prints that investigates the visible and invisible pressures shaping contemporary life. Each layer is printed under the physical pressure of the Takach etching press and letterpress SP20, where force transfers ink from matrix to paper, becoming both a material process and a conceptual metaphor.

These two works are printed with the phrase "Sobreviviendo a duras penas" ("Barely surviving"), words shared with me by family and friends in Cuba. The phrase carries a quiet weight, speaking to resilience, endurance, and the everyday act of moving forward despite uncertainty.

I'm still thinking about where this series is going, but it already feels like an important shift in my practice. @sharedprintfac @bakehouseartcomplex @dvcai @extravirginpress @sgcinternational @yamilysbritojorge @taniaparson @meira.marrero @nelson_ramirez_de_arellano @hisraeltamayozamora @arratehechavarria @LuisDiazOduardoTallerCulturalStgodeCuba
