an extremely honest process of imperfection.
•
recently i have been trying to work on my weaknesses & learning how to accept failure. personally, pirouettes have always been very scary & difficult for me but while currently in the process of trying to overcome that fear i am learning so much & thought i would share part of my growth process.

dance is obviously an incredibly physical form of self expression & we can always fix & tweak our technique everyday in the studios to make enhance our skills but soo much of it is also mental. if you don’t trust yourself & your technique you are single handedly stepping in your own way of succeeding.

in the past, i never would have posted these because they are nowhere near the end goal. however, im learning to accept imperfection & document the process. you can’t be so afraid of failure, you don’t even let yourself try. growth doesn’t happen overnight & we must be patient w ourselves as we are experiencing trial & error —you will never find success by continuing to play it safe & never allowing yourself the chance to try

even though it’s not perfect today, remember where you were yesterday & remember where you started. growth is not linear. you are allowed to make mistakes; keep going. one step at a time. taken in Mercyhurst University by @nadinelfox
