#WhatsYourStory is definitely one of my favourite career highlights to date. Working on the Campaign with @desireedibasennanuses was such a pleasure because she knows so much about the history Art and how art has evolved over the years (so i would always have so many questions) I am so glad @desireedibasennanuses is sharing the exhibition Outcomes on her social media platforms.

I think my highlight was filming the artists and documenting their process, what an experience, Namibian artisans have the best stories because they literally start from nothing to making great Art that will live on for years to come.

Please check out the exhibition when you have time and I promise you, you will not regret it.

My latest project helps me understand the culture of Namibian music and why there is a disconnect in support of new age artists.

I think we have left out a chunk of the fact that we have a musical heritage that was not shared because it was suppressed in its very beginnings, Thirty-three years after Namibia’s democratization, @stolenmomentsna (the musical group I am working with now) commemorates fundamental aspects of collective cultural identity that was suppressed by censorship and erased from official memory from the time of independence.

I love music and it’s so sad that every 2nd Namibian musician I work with complains about how we are not supportive of their work, so through this initiative maybe we get an opportunity to go back in time and understand where Namibian Music comes and where we are headed.

An audio and video documentation of the tour will be made available to the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation, NBC for further distribution. by @nahends

One of the highlights of spending the week with Chiney Ogwumike in Namibia was being part of a programme that brought sport, creativity, tourism and national development into the same conversation.

For those who may not know her, Chiney Ogwumike is a Nigerian-American former WNBA player, two-time WNBA All-Star and current ESPN basketball analyst, whose work extends beyond the court into media, business and global sports conversations.

I had the opportunity to coordinate her engagements during her visit to Namibia in connection with the Creative, Sports & Tourism Expo.

Spending the week with her taught me a great deal about sport, influence, global storytelling and the possibilities that exist when different industries come together.

A particularly meaningful moment was visiting State House and meeting with Her Excellency President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

What stood out to me was the President’s reaffirmation of the importance of the creative and sports industries within Namibia’s development agenda, including their recognition as priorities under the country’s National Development Plan.

For those of us working in these spaces, that reassurance matters.

reinforces the idea that sport and creativity are not simply about entertainment. They can contribute to economic opportunity, tourism, youth development, employment, cultural identity and how Namibia positions itself internationally.

We have an opportunity to build stronger connections between our creative industries, sporting ecosystem and tourism sector and to think more intentionally about how these can become vehicles for Namibia’s growth and global visibility.

Spending a week alongside Chiney and being part of these conversations reminded me why I am so interested in the intersection of culture, sport, media, diplomacy and public policy.

There is a bigger story to tell about Namibia.

And I believe we are only beginning to tell it.

Thank you to @creative.sport.tourism for inspiring a nation and celebrating US ❤️

Appreciation Post @mosito.ramaili 🥂

One of my favourite things about the Namibian Creative Skills Exchange Programme at CCHub Namibia was meeting Mosito Ramaili

I went into his masterclass on marketing your creativity expecting to learn about positioning and marketing, but I left thinking much bigger about who we are as African creatives and the stories we have the power to tell.

What really stayed with me was his perspective on documenting our own African stories and using storytelling to strengthen, connect and ultimately unite the continent.

But honestly, meeting him was also special because, sometimes you meet someone whose work you admire, hear them speak about their journey, and suddenly the things you’ve been dreaming about don’t feel so far away anymore.

Seeing the work Mosito has done made me believe even more that it is possible for us as African creatives. We can build. We can create.

We can tell our own stories. We can take those stories beyond our borders.

I left our conversation thinking about Namibia and the incredible creatives we have here. We need to become more intentional about how we position ourselves within Africa, how we articulate the value of our creativity, and how we tell stories that are uniquely ours.

These pictures mean a little more to me than just pictures with someone I met at a programme. It’s a reminder of the kind of creative future I want to be part of building. by @nahends

It is almost a wrap for this exciting production I had the pleasure of working on alongside really really incredible people.

I worked the production set design and wardrobe for the famous GIPF series “OUR FAMILY TIES “ - it was an honor to have been a part of the team, everytime I see my work on the big screen it is a pinch me moment of how far the creative space in Namibia has come and most importantly where we are headed.

The series discusses GIPF benefits through day-to-day scenarios and offers a comprehensive and engaging educational experience for GIPF members.

Our Family Ties is out every Sunday, on NBC 1 at 19:50.

It was a pleasure working with @popakademie , @collegeofthearts and Unam on the 2nd edition of Music Camp Namibia. In the first edition which was earlier this year (March) we shot a beautiful docu Film that captured the musicians create the music from scratch. Although this time around we did not film, we had such a beautiful show as the musicians showcased their talent.
