Happy 20 @meta and @zuck ! Always inspired by your curiosity, your ability for pattern recognition across technologies, systems and nations, your drive to improve impact and support to entrepreneurs who are passionate about communities and tech for good. One of the highlights was our long chat on India tech and our learnings & journey of building @mybabychakra šŸ™ŒšŸ™Œ

Also while no longer at Meta, @sherylsandberg you’ve been a role model to so many women in tech esp at a time when there were none. Also blown away by how approachable you have been to so many of us esp at @harvardhbs .

Long way to go and tonnes to work on still to meet the vision of Meta, but kudos to Meta for becoming an integral part of so many online, digital and social experiences : a very real extension of self.

Quick story of an unexpected twist of turns even before we registered our new company.

Since many of our collective members at The EDIT had asked, had shared a BTS on our brand name in our community yesterday. Sharing the story with my Insta fam too.

As some of you recall, when we first named the brand, we called it Edition. And the short form, not the main brand, was Edt.

Our TM lawyers gave us the all clear. And we were ready to go with Edition.

Until as with all seemingly great and seamless plans, we suddenly faced opposition from no other than a large American retailer (who shall not be named 😈) for a potential infringement on a trademark they owned. We could fight it, yes, but then we did’nt have the money and also did’nt want the distraction from our core purpose.

True startup style, we brainstormed the next option and ironically, the answer presented itself. Edt -> EDT.

EDT became our hero brand , suddenly brought out from the sidelines to playing main character.

And it all made sense. EDT was destined to be the short form of Everyday Design & Technology. Our mission that we were working towards to bring design and tech into our everyday extraordinary livesā¤ļø

The journey of building is never without unexpected challenges clearly. But perhaps (just perhaps) each challenge is what polishes us up to extraordinary šŸ«”šŸš€

Ps: the images are from our first set of days when we thought Edition was a slam dunk. Little did we know :)

Today I am so grateful. The journey of @mybabychakra and our decision to merge with @myglamm has become a @harvardhbs case study.

It’s also a full circle since it’s co authored by one of my favourite professors at HBS, the legendary Shikhar Ghosh and by @anvita_dekhane who was our incredible Chief of Staff at BabyChakra.

The process of sharing the journey of BabyChakra, the ups and downs, the stories of the team we built and the decision to get aquired was a deeply introspective process. Full credit to the team who handled this with sensitivity at each point.

As a student at #Harvard, I remember poring over the case studies, vicariously living through the life of the founder.

We’d wait for the entrepreneur to come to class to share her journey and how decisions were made.

The reality is that the journey of entrepreneurship and decisions you make can be life changing and are always based on limited information. It was perhaps just a few chats with @darpan.sanghvi that made me think this would be the best answer for the mission of BabyChakra to scale.

We were also lucky to have an incredibly supportive board and investors who have gone on to become friends and mentors through the journey. The team at BabyChakra was special & a partner in the decision making and the team at MyGlamm now @goodglammgroup made us feel immediately at home.

A lot of decision making is simply gut or intuition. Some of it clicks and it’s serendipity. We can only look back and connect the dots and try to make sense of how and why we made the decisions we did and why they just ā€œfelt rightā€.

The case study is quite raw in parts and at parts very personal: but that’s what being an entrepreneur is. You bring the whole of who you are to work.

I’ve since realised, it’s important to have this aspect shared since I remember waiting to read case studies at Business school that would talk about a protagonist ā€œlike meā€. Not a white, male run venture in Silicon Valley but a brown, female, mom, single founder from #India who wants to build the best way to support parents across the world.

The journey of BabyChakra has just started btw. Kahani abhi baaki hai doston.

The EDT community did not validate Luma after it was built.

They gave us the conviction to build it in the first place.

That is what genuine community-led innovation looks like. by @naiyya

What does it take to build a business when you’re often the only woman in the room?

The answer isn’t just capital. It’s credibility, conviction, and the ability to navigate systems that have long been shaped without women at the centre.

At HERitage Huddle 2026, we brought together four founders who have built businesses across sectors with very different realities but remarkably similar challenges.

With speakers Soumya Rajan, our Founder & CEO, Naiyya Saggi, Founder & CEO, EDT, and Gauri Devidayal, Co-founder & Director, Food Matters Group, and moderator Deeksha Ahuja, Founder, Encubay, the discussion explored questions that rarely have straightforward answers:

How do women approach fundraising in environments where networks and capital have historically favoured men? What role does self-belief play, and where do structural barriers begin? How do founders build authority, negotiate risk, and make decisions when they are constantly expected to prove themselves?

There were no easy prescriptions but many honest reflections from entrepreneurs who have built, failed, adapted and grown.

Years ago, I had the opportunity to meet Mark Zuckerberg and talk about how we were building BabyChakra.

His question was simple: ā€œHow did your community grow so fast?ā€

The answer wasn’t a growth hack.

It was obsession with solving one problem deeply, and creating a space where mothers could ask any question without the fear of being judged.

At our peak, 25 million mothers trusted BabyChakra to have conversations around pregnancy, parenting, breastfeeding, and everything in between.

The biggest communities aren’t built on algorithms alone. They’re built on trust, belonging, and a genuine understanding of people’s unmet needs.

The name Life’s Toys isn’t just a theme, it’s a memory.

Growing up, gadgets brought home by my father sparked endless curiosity, while my mother’s love for art filled our home with colour and imagination. That blend of technology and creativity shaped the way I look at products even today.

Life’s Toys is an attempt by the entire team at @edt.world to capture that feeling, where everyday objects aren’t just functional, but inspire wonder, play, and curiosity.

Launching FLOW reminded me that companies don’t win because they have the ā€˜smartest’ founder.

They win because they have a team where every person is the star: they know their role and take ownership of it.

Design shapes the experience. Engineering brings the product to life. Marketing tells the story. Growth helps it reach the world. None of these functions matter in isolation, but together they create something far bigger than any one individual could.

One of the biggest mindset shifts in building a company is realizing that your job is to build the environment for the team & talent to thrive.

When a team come together, they build products far better than you ever could.

When my three-month-old daughter, Raaya, was crying at 3 AM, the last thing I wanted was to spend precious minutes waiting for water to boil… and then wait again for it to cool.

That moment made me question something we had all accepted for years. If our lives have evolved so much, why haven’t the everyday products we rely on? That simple question became the starting point for FLOW.

In fact, as some of you know, this apparently simple product was also the origin for @edt.world to come to life.

And so here we are. Building products we ourselves want to see out in the world. Meeting our own bar for design & using tech and safer materials to make our own aspirations come to life. by @naiyya

TL;DR: Our 2nd device is coming soon. #LifesToysEdition

There’s an appliance that’s been sitting in every kitchen for over a hundred years, doing exactly one job, and nobody questioned it. Not once. It was simple, it was old, and somewhere along the way the world just accepted that it didn’t need to be anything more.

To us, accepting that somehow did not feel right.

So we applied the same EDT principles: it had to be better for you from a design x tech x function matrix, and built for how you actually live now. Not how someone lived a hundred years ago.

And somewhere in that process, something else happened. New colour entered the world of EDT for the first time along with the core tech and features.

This limited edition collection is called Life’s Toys: the belief that even the most ordinary moment in your day deserves a little extraordinary. 🧔

What always fascinated me about @mckinseyco wasn’t just the people they hired.

It was how deeply they invested in shaping them.

No HR in the traditional sense driving onboarding and recruiting. Yet a culture so strong that it transcended teams, offices, and even countries.

Every interaction, from hiring to onboarding, was designed to pass on a way of thinking not just a way of working.

A reminder that culture isn’t built through policies. It’s built through people. Something we try to emulate in every company and team I am part of.
