The last two days we checked off West Virginia, Freedoms Run half marathon, and Maryland, Chestertown Challenge half. ✅ Totally opposite days. Today we got quite wet🤣 next weekend we do New Jersey and finish 2 weeks from today with the Marine Corp Marathon. We would love your support as we fundraise for the Foundation of women warriors. Medal Monday - I haven’t done a 70.3 since Oregon 2022 and retired from triathlon after Kona 2022. But I came out of retirement to do this race with Silas 💕 and it turned out better than expected. You couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. Okay maybe 10 degrees cooler, but I’ll take the heat rather than the wind any day. Silas started the swim with me, got to yell at him in transition, then didn’t see him again until on the run. I was at mile 4 and he was at mile 9🤪 Yes my bike is still slow, but I’ll admit I didn’t train too much for it 🤷‍♀️ throughout the day Vern and Maykely were yelling and taking pictures, best support crew ever. Then they were all at the finish line waiting💕. I’m always amazing what this body God gave me can do. Now let’s get ready to go knock off a few more states and top it with the Marine Corps Marathon. 🥳 #godisfaithful #family💗 by @nancy_b_mckim

Sometimes when you are marathon training you just go do something fun and different to get the miles in. First time I’ve picked a race for the medal (IYKYK) but ended up having so much fun. 10 weeks to the Marine Corps Marathon. Alaska ✅ 31 states done - but this one was amazing. Each day was waking up seeing God’s creation and feeling His presence wherever you looked. In the mountains, the animals, the oceans, the glaciers, the skies, and the people. We met some amazing, giving people we will remember forever. We are so blessed to take these trips and never take them for granted. We are so thankful for the time we have together and the health we have been blessed with and the kids taking care of our home while we are gone 🤪 “But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? Job12:7-9 Stop, look and really take time to see what God has created and know He is real. In October we will be running the Marine Corp Marathon. As always when training for a longer race we love picking a charity to fudraise for. For this race we have chosen the Foundation for Women Warriors. We love that they are helping women/mothers to move from active service into civilian life, in real time. Nebraska ✅ State# 30 - We have enjoyed Nebraska over the last 4 days. We traveled to Scottsbluff where we got to meet up with friends and enjoy our first trip to Runza for lunch and a trip to Scott's Bluff, Chimney Rock and Car Henge. We then went into Valentine where we would be running our Half Marathon. We were able to do a ride on Cowboy Trail, and today we ran the Rattle Snake Half and followed it with a fun time tubing down the Niobrara River. Tomorrow we start heading home. They have so many windmills in Nebraska. They are very cool. #godscreationisbeautiful #travelingwithmybestfriend #blessed by @nancy_b_mckim

First Gravel Ride and Unbound Gravel did not disappoint. 50 miles of rain and thunder, so lots of mud and wet! But thanks to @sequimbike our bikes did amazing without any problems. Today we head to Kansas, driving across multiple states to take part in Unbound Gravel. We get to do this because we Live Free! Not by anything I have done but because of all the men and women who have fought for and died for this country from the first day of its birth. I am very grateful for each one of them. When your son does his first Ironman 70.3 you do it with him. Victoria 70.3 was amazing. The day couldn’t have been better weather wise. Water was smooth and the bike and run courses were amazing. For the relay Natalie did the swim, I did the bike and Vern ran. Silas was all on his own. The bike course was very hilly. They put most of the big hills the last 10 miles, which made the last 10 miles extra long🫣. Silas did amazing. It was a fun quick trip across the water. Now to trade our road bikes for gravel bikes and head out in the morning for Emporia, Kansas and Unbound Gravel.
