My 2005 public art installation called The Human Face located within the 60 Wall St. Atrium. It consisted of two scrims, one on each side of the atrium. On one side was the face of Womankind and on the other was the face of Mankind. The images themselves were based on the population statistics of 2005. Just out of the shower, I heard a loud bang and the building (in Soho) shook. The phone rang and it was a friend telling me to turn on my TV. The first plane had just gone in.
I had received two premonitions, both exactly the same. I saw myself opening the door to my loft and my son and ex were both at the door. I was expecting them. I knew something horrible had happened but couldn’t see what it would be.
That morning I sat in disbelief on the phone with a dear friend when the towers went down. I called my ex who was living a few blocks away. “Please go get him from school” I said and waited for them to arrive. When I opened the door and saw them there, I had already seen it twice before. #focusonpeace @creativetime

Here’s my Focus on Peace project commissioned for the first anniversary of 9/11 and sponsored by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and Creative Time @lmcc_nyc and @creativetime
“This unique campaign distributed 30,000 postcards and 7,000 posters inscribed with the message “Focus on Peace” around the 1st anniversary of September 11th. ”Focus on Peace” was a citywide declaration that served as a visualization/contemplation tool and message of healing. Community-based groups, schools and universities as well as small businesses and storefronts Downtown displayed “Focus on Peace” posters and postcards.”
There was also a small edition of t-shirts for friends and the LMCC staff. The Creative Time website still has signed posters on their site https://creativetime.org/shop/#posters

The #callanishstones @isleoflewis @upperhebrides are 5000 years old, 2000 years older than @stonehenge. I was there the first time in 2001 with a group that included my dear friend Meryl Beck. She became my periodic traveling companion during my decade in the UK #cropcircles and I wanted to go back again in part because Meryl’s ashes were scattered there a few years ago. She would go there every summer after her son committed suicide, as sitting in those ancient stones were always a comfort for her. There are numerous other Callanish circles there too and at Callanish 2 we encountered 2 huge coos, the Scottish long-haired cows. At first, we thought they were statues, but they were just chewing!
