Rustic buildings, uneven terrain, mysterious weather changes, burly winters and gorgeous summers —

Silverton is a mining town in Colorado I have always loved and respected. At 9318ft elevation, the town is full of passionate and determined people. Environment can greatly shape the person you become. And the art I make tries to encapsulate that.

I love these mountains and I loved mulling over this painting the past 6 months. Being able to play and paint the San Juans is a privilege I enjoy often!

Who needs faces when we have body language?

You ever wonder why I don’t paint faces for my watercolor event portraits? Faces are such a key part of a person’s character, and my perfectionism rarely allows me to take less than 10 minutes per portrait when I’m at events. Faceless is the best way to be efficient, and challenges me to capture character in a different way.

What a year it’s been. Finished school, got back into training, and ran IMTUF 100 during the most beautiful start of Fall.
